Jeff is a little depressed lately because he’s not selling any books and he knows part of the problem is he doesn’t really have the money to do a proper marketing job. So he leaves it up to his friends on Facebook and his followers on Twitter. But that doesn’t seem to be working. He wrote his first book back in 2012 and only sold three the second book only sold two back in 2013 the third which represented a change in gender from Science Fiction to Mystery Thrillers has sold six. But we all know what pig headed goof he can be so he’s writing a fourth book, this one another Mystery Thriller featuring his new hero Samuel S. Sampson is presently titled A CHILD IS MISSING that might change you never know with Fats. He’s about 21000 words into it and seems to really be going at it. He also has plans for a book about me titled Flounders Great Adventure not to be confused with this blog this story will really be about me and contain some photos which means it will only be available in paperback and hopefully around Christmas. DEFORESTATION THE FORGOTTEN EVIL

Did you know that rain forests are responsible for about 28% of the world’s oxygen? We are always talking so much about global warming and food production that we’ve put one of the greatest dangers to the survival of mankind on the back burner. That danger is deforestation which is the cutting down of old growth forests and not replanting. It is a real problem in South America where Brazil leads along with Venezuela it seems the more the economy grows or the more oil or coal, gold etc is found the more they want to destroy the forests. Jeff and I believe this contributes to global warming as it leaves more co2 and other elements normally filtered out by trees and plants in the atmosphere. Now we’re not scientist or alarmist either, we just study the stupidity of man and wonder if there will be a world left for Jeff’s grandson Hari and His Great nephews Billy and Jackson to enjoy. The most disturbing thing about mankind is its complete lack of forethought. I mean they love to look back and find blame after it’s too late but aren’t real keen on protecting the future. Leaving instead for the next generation to try and repair. The unfortunate part of this is these idiots are affecting my life and the rest of the animal kingdom as well. Jeff has always been told things will get better as you get older I don’t think that applies anymore I think they’re getting worse and it will be the same way for the next generation. THE HELL WITH THEM

Well it looks like the US government and the CIA are back up to their old tricks of leaving people out in the cold. The first one that Jeff knows about has to do with Cuba we supported Castro when he was in the jungles fighting. But when he came out and threw out the Mafia and started looking for financial help to build a government the US hemmed and hawed until he went to the Russians and Chinese and then said they were betrayed, now there like the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s yelling and blaming each other for the feud. The next big abandonment was the Mujahedeen in Afghanistan after they had gotten Russia out of the country The Us decided that was all they wanted now they could go back to riding camels and growing dope. Unfortunately one of the people they pissed off was a fellow named Ben Ladin and he kinda took it personally. Now we have a group of specially trained Afghans trained and armed by the CIA and were going to cut them loose. This is just one of those really well thought out diplomatic plans that the US is becoming known for. There are still hundreds maybe thousands of people that fought next to American soldiers in Viet Nam that have been persecuted for their assistance to a unthankful government. DOCTOR, DENTIST AND DRUG STORE

So this morning Jeff had a doctor’s appointment for a physical and he was also going to get an emergency appointment for his toothache as well as pick his medicine for the month. The whole thing took three hours including the dentist which tuned into a root canal. Oh almost forgot he got a flu shoot too. Now here’s the part you guys in the US are going to hate the whole day cost him $3.33 yup that’s all his insurance costs $52.00 a month. Kind of makes you want to move doesn’t it. He still has to have a permanent grown done and he has to see a specialist about some possible blockage in his arteries but still $3.33 not to shabby. People tell him he’s lucky for most Colombians it takes a lot longer to get appointments but Jeff was always lucky that way even in the US. Every year I write about this day called Cinco De Mayo it’s the Latin version of St Patrick’s day where everybody pretend to be Hispanic and drinks too much and eats a lot of hot food. You don’t see this day celebrated the same way down in Mexico I think there holiday is tomorrow or the next day. This is a liquor company holiday designed to sell lots of Tequila. It’s amazing how companies can distort holidays for their own purposes. From my experience most people don’t need a holiday to go out and drink the holiday is just an excuse to drink to much and act like an asshole. Jeff is an alcoholic and he will tell you he stayed out of bars on days like today because it took too long to get a drink with all the amateurs around. Well we don’t have that problem down people use the sun coming up as a n excuse to drink. Well that’s it Happy Cinco De Mayo be safe this is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia
SOME STUFF

I really don’t have atopic to blog about today so we’re just going to talk about stuff. How much stuff do you have? You need to clean out your closet and throw some stuff out or give it away. Why? So you can go out and buy more stuff. If you don’t then the companies won’t be able to sell stuff and if they can’t sell stuff they’ll have to fire you. Now you won’t have money to buy any new stuff but don’t worry there won’t be any new stuff. So you decide to sell your stuff but there’s a problem. All the business’s shut down because nobody was buying new stuff so nobody has any money to buy your stuff. So you go and rob your neighbor’s stuff and he robs his neighbors stuff etc. etc.. Now business’s start to steal from everybody and then the country decides to steal from other countries and they get pissed and steal everything back. Then somebody decides to Nuke the other country so they can keep their stuff and the other country decides to do the same thing. After awhile they come up with bombs that kill the people but don’t hurt the stuff and this goes on for awhile and then eventually there’s nothing left but stuff. I’ve probably done a post on this sometime in the past but I don’t care. It’s been said that Colombians are some of the happiest people in the world. I’ve found that hard to believe since they work six to seven days a week and long hours but then I took a bigger look. They average a holiday about once every 17 days, now that’s an average that includes unpaid time off around the holidays. Sometimes as much as 6 to 8 weeks, due to what is referred to as the end of their contract period. When they get a three day holiday which is rare for the average person they leave town and head to the country much like we head for the beach. The only people that don’t are some store owners who continue to work they have to pay rent and possibly protection money so they must work or they plan to go on vacation at a different time. What would happen in America if this attitude prevailed there? Hard to say compared to other countries Americans are considered lazy. I’ve seen this when in retail locations in the US the Hispanics are doing more of the work while other American workers look on with distain. Now this will undoubtedly piss off a lot of Americans who work and struggle to make a living. But the next time you’re in a Wal Mart located in a urban area take a real look and see whose working and whose hanging behind a clothes rack. WAR WHAT’S IT REALLY GOOD FOR

What exactly if war good for? I mean look at Hitler he goes and starts World War 2 because he didn’t like the way World War 1 ended didn’t work out to well for him did it? Then we have the North and South Korea a lot got accomplished with that one didn’t it. Next we have a little something called Viet Nam first the French get there ass kicked pretty good then America comes along and when all is said and done 50 something thousand American men and women are dead. Things stay pretty quiet for awhile the Sadam decides he want to own some strip of sand called Kuwait that didn’t go as planned then another guy blows up the world trade center in New York city and America is back in Iraq spends a few years there tries to leave and nothing’s really changed At the same time we’re in Afghanistan looking for the guy who blew up the trade center 10 years later he’s dead but the country is still nothing but a pile of rocks. Let’s go further back to the American civil war which wasn’t about slavery but was about states right to govern themselves. Now that little disagreement cost 625,000 dead and 452,200 wounded and they were all Americans and the states are still pissed at each other. I could go on and on but most people will say like fro WW 2 that we won but that’s not the point somebody has to start this shit before anybody can win and for somebody nothing changes or in some cases it gets worse. So the answer to the question WAR WHATS IT REALLY GOOD FOR is ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING. This is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin Colombia

I got up this morning with Jeff he put on some Bob Dylan and we started looking for good news on the internet you know something other than death and destruction or politics. It was pretty near impossible to find I mean there was a story of a mixed martial artist trying to save a baby Dolphin and some human interest involving young people but not a lot of what I would call good or happy news. Why is when people try to do something good it gets but in such a place that very few people get to read it? If by chance some organization succeeds in defeating big business and save an animal or an area of land there made to look like the enemy rather than a hero. Being a cat I think you humans are doomed if keep thinking like that. I mean the people that protested the war in Viet Nam are only thought of as heroes by a few, the rest think they were misguided kids or worse today they would be labeled a terrorists probably because they dared to disagree with authority. One of these days if I live long enough maybe some TV news cast will do nothing but happy news. Wouldn’t that be something? This is Flounder saying CIAO form Medellin Colombia.

Well over the weekend there has been a lot of talk about what the owner of a National Basketball team in the US said about Afro Americans. He was recorded telling his half black half Mexican girlfriend that he didn’t want her to bring black people to his teams home games. The idiot sais a lot of other things as well and his team which is made up of Afro Americans protested as well as many other people both black and white. The strange thing about this idiot is he has a good record as far as employing Afro Americans in positions of responsibility with the team. That makes him difficult to discipline. He is one of many what I refer to closet racists in the world not just the US. There are black racists in Africa and white one all over the world. Terrorists are racist in the actions although they use religion as well. The fact that white people forget is they are in the minority in the US as well as the world. The world in general forgets one very important fact that we need each other if this planet is going to survive. But I think it’s going to take an alien invasion and I’m not sure that will help to get people to realize this. People think the use of force to gain control of land or wealth contained in that land making them powerful will make them controllers of the world. Unfortunately before that happens I believe the planet will become a nuclear waste land. If you put all the different people of this planet side by side you’ll find other that the color of their skin there is no difference. You all have the same amount of bones; you all have hearts and lungs; you all need to breathe and eat. In other words we all need the same things and the majority all want the same things but if the few have their way the world will self destruct instead of flourishing as it should. Wake up people RACISM is a self defeating idea that leaves the world without a future. Do you think that Mr. Sterling could have made all the money he has without the Afro Americans on his team and workers who he employs I think not. Before you all think that I feel this is just an American problem Black people in Colombia face the same and some times worse racism as those in America do.
