WHERE TO GO FOR THE TRUTH?
August 15, 2016
I just finished reading an article by Matt Taibbi in Rolling stone where he talks about how unbiased the American news has become. He goes on to talk about how it’s impossible to get both sides from any one source. I hate to tell you Matt but the people that I grew up with have thought that way since the 60’s. We would read several different newspapers and news magazines as well as listen to and watch different news channels. Some of this might have come about because of the Kennedy assassination and the rumors of cover up. Then of course Nixon didn’t help either. I think news outlets have gone in this direction because people are too lazy to look for the truth. They would rather put their faith in a face or a voice. Now I hear young people are doing what we did and they have an even greater source for info the internet. Maybe now with the obvious siding of the news media with one party or the other people will again start thinking for themselves. I know that a simplistic and novel thing to say but it would be great if they did. If we could force politicians and news media from using the art of deception and get reporters back to investigating and writing the truth maybe we wouldn’t have some of the problems we’re having in this country now. But what do I know I’m just a cat. This is Flounder your next President saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.
THAT’S RIGHT I’M STILL RUNNING

Ok even if you like some of trumps positions you have to be worried about what comes out of his mouth. I know a lot of people say he just saying thing to draw attention away from Hillary. But folks if was to say some of this stuff in the General assembly of the UN or a meeting of heads of state we could be in for a long, long headache. Now most of you know I’m running for President and one of the things I want to change is how the President gets elected. I want to do away with the Electoral College and have everybody’s vote count. I want the candidates to have to worry about Rhode Island and Wyoming not just those states that have a lot of Electoral votes. Wouldn’t you like to have your vote count in a national election just as much as it does when you vote for city council? People say well we do that for congress and look what we get. That’s very true but maybe we should pay a little more attention to whom is running for office and a little less about what party they’re from. I know it’s going to take more than this to clean up politics but it could be a good place to start. I also think all candidates should be given the same amount of money to campaign with instead of having all those big corporations funding there campaign. Maybe then that line from that old Jay and the Americans song “Only in America can a poor boy go to bed and wake up and become President” will be true and this will once again become the land of opportunity.
