Over the weekend Fidel Castro died and it seems he was a love him or hate him kind of guy. The Trumpster has called him a vicious dictator and I guess at time he was. But look at the country he inherited back in1959. There was a very corrupt President in Batista who had turned Cuba into a country club for Myer Lanski and the rest of the American Mafia. He was pro Russia and a Communist or Socialist depending on your definition. The United States didn’t particularly like him even though they had supported the revolution because of the involvement of the mafia in Cuba. We’re pretty good at getting asshole into office and then trying to get rid of them once we realize our mistake. We did the same with the Shaw of Iran, Saddam Hussein we even created Osama Ben Ladin. In Cuba we tried assonating him (with the help of the mafia) using an exploding cigar. We tried economic blockade and even invading the country (see Bay of Pigs 1961). Some will tell you these failed attempts had much to do with the assassination of President Kennedy. I find it hard to really blame him for what he became I mean I’ve looked at his history and that of Che’s and find that we once again were responsible for creating him and then deciding to throw him away. Even now with death of Fidel and the relaxing of some restrictions the old evils are begin got smile with glee. The Trumpster is looking to build hotels to exploit tourism. The Mafia is licking its chops at the prospect of once again having uncontrolled gambling in a tropical paradise just off of our coast. All and all I don’t think Castro was that bad if we had left Batista in power thing could have been a lot worse. This is Flounder and Fats saying have a nice Monday and CIAO from Medellin Colombia.

First let me say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone hope you had a great day. Next Fidel Castro died. He was one of the most polarizing figures of my life time. The Trumpster has said he doesn’t like the deal we have to normalize relations with Cuba. At least that’s what he said a few days ago, which now brings me to this post. World leaders should be very wary of anything that comes out of his mouth. I won’t call him a liar but instead a waffle. That mean whatever he’s say is is iron clad position now it’s likely to change to suit his personal desires. Trump really doesn’t care how what he does or says effects the rest of us or he’s too stupid to realize it does affect us. Trump changes his mind on things fast than a chameleon changes colors. Now when you just a businessman all that happens is a few people get really screwed but when you president of a country and you do this millions will be affected, some will even lose their lives. What I trying to say here is what the American Indian has been saying about white men sense they invaded their country “WHITE MAN SPEAK WITH FORKED TONGUE”. Now that doesn’t bode well for our relations in the world. But unless the Trumpster can make a buck of a deal he doesn’t give a shit and the really sad thing is either does anyone in his family. Now you’re going to say isn’t that true about all politicians? The answer is for the most part yes but most aren’t in a position to cause world chaos. The Trumpster’s own supporters are beginning to get a taste of this now as he changes his mind on things like a special prosecutor for Hillary or the registration of all Muslims’ or the immigration ban against them to name just a couple. The Trumpster isn’t the typical lying politician he is much worse because he really, really doesn’t give s shit about anything but himself. So get out there protest pay attention to what is being said in Congress and the Senate. Investigate your local politicians in other word pay attention to all elections. Don’t make it easy for the Trumpster to change this country. Don’t be blinded by his promises of jobs that aren’t going to be there. Now I hope all my female readers will be at the million women march on January 21, 2017 to let him know it’s not going to be as easy as he thinks. I’ve just finished reading about a woman who is a member of some white nationalist group AKA white supremist group who says she’s worried about the decline of white folks in the US. Let me ask you folks something. Do you know how we got here? We came in ships and killed or deported the native people simple because we wanted their land. Now these natives never wanted to go and invade Europe and they actually welcomed the invaders. Sounds like some people during WWII. These people for the most part lived a simple life taking only what they could use from the world around them. Their life was hard but the considered that the price they had to pay for what they considered the bounty that was there for them. Now we still have white people who think they’re better than everybody else and deserve to be treated as such. They will use the Bible quote that say’ “God created man in his own image.” Well if I understand that right the Bible wasn’t written by god it was written by men, but by men who weren’t white but were more likely brown skinned Arabs. So that sort of shoots that excuse down the drain. I don’t know what it is that makes white people think that there so superior to others. I hear well my ancestors help found this country. No your ancestors killed those that had founded this country and took it from them. They succeeded in this because of numbers. May be this is why white people are so scared now they think if they don’t have the numbers they’ll be kicked out or put on reservations. This thought of white supremacy has never worked. You can ask the South Africans you can ask Mussolini or Hitler even Stalin. When one race, nation, or people think that are better than everybody else they set themselves up for destruction. Look at those civilizations that thought that way. The Roman Empire the Egyptian Empire and so on all thought they were better than everybody else. This is where that old saying comes in those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat its mistakes or something like that. Jeff and I have been around for 70+ years and one thing we’ve learned is that we all need each other to survive. This is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.

Were something like 10 days into the era of the Trumpster and there are a lot of unhappy people out there, so what to do. I don’t recommend violence like some of his supporters are doing, but I do recommend peaceful civil disobedience. There are a lot of young people saying what good will that do? If you look back into are not so distant history you’ll see it’s what got the Civil Rights movement going, it helped get rid of the draft, it helped end an unpopular war and if you go further back it got the women the right to vote. So now maybe it will help keep the lunatic fringe at bay while we figure out how to handle Trump. Another way it can be used is to influence any and all elections no matter how small. I know people want change and I agree with them thing have to change but not by going backwards. I’ve said this before I don’t believe manufacturing jobs will come back to this country in the numbers Trump and the disenfranchised workers want. He wants to do away with alternate fuel research in favor of coal and oil. Well instead of sending people into holes in that ground or strip mining the countryside. Why not train people in alternate fields, and thus create jobs that don’t endanger the worker or the environment? People worried about the people Bush surrounded himself with well they should be worried about who the Trumpster surrounds himself with. This is where protests like marches and letter writing campaigns and phone calls to you elected officials can have an effect. If you sit back and say let’s see what happens it will be too late. Well the Trumpster doesn’t believe in climate change. He believes over 90% of the world scientists are in a conspiracy. His transition team seems to agree with him well I guess we’ll just have to wait for the climate apocalypse to happen to see who is right. You know Trump comes from that 1% who when something get screwed up in the neighbor hood they just leave the country for awhile. Speaking of leaving the country people want to know since I don’t live in America anymore why they should listen to anything I have to say about what goes on. Well I moved to Colombia because my body was telling me I couldn’t keep working like I was and I needed to retire. I moved because all I had to live on was my Social Security Check and after I paid rent I wouldn’t have money for utilities or food. Of course people said move and I could have but I spent over 50 years working for what I had and the way I lived so I wasn’t willing to downsize and move. When we went to Colombia on vacation to visit my wife’s family I saw the people and the cost of living. Would I have preferred to stay in the US? Of course but the economics of doing so were prohibited. I don’t advocate people moving out of the country because they don’t like the way the government is going unless they’re willing to give up everything they’ve gotten by working hard up to this point. What I do advocate is protest. People say what good will that do? It helped get us out of a bad war in Viet Nam. It might just help keep the Trumpster from ruining the country. We do need change I just don’t think Trump was the right answer and by the way either was Hillary. We have made a lot of mistakes simple by doing nothing and letting a bunch of old men who think were too stupid to govern ourselves make decisions for us. In the days and weeks ahead I’ll try to show you where I think we went wrong and then maybe together we can come up with some constructive ways to bring about change. Well the election is over and the Trumpster won does that upset me a little? Yes but what really pisses me off is how happy the American Nazi party is. how happy the climate deniers are, how happy those people that don’t in equal rights for women are and how about those people that want to take away a women’s right to choose. Now these people’s being happy really upsets me. I’m not going to say well it’s over and time to sit around and sing cum ba ya and say everything will be alright. Nope I ain’t going to do it. I’m going to complain and raise hell and see how many people I can piss off, because sitting around and goin oh hum just ain’t going to cut it. If you really want to be pissed off, just look at some of the contenders for the Trumpster’s cabinet. Sarah Palin for secretary of the interior, she thinks climate change is a joke. Personally I’d be surprised if she knew how to spell it. Ben Carson for secretary of health he still think Darwinism is a hoax. Then you Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio who will have us all going around with barcodes tattoo on our necks and that’s just a few of the possibilities. This election should never have happened if people wanted change they should have picked two candidates that would have given us an actual choice. Not the two most corrupt one out there. all of you that are cheering and hoping to see Hillary in jail. Take a good look around then go read some books like Mien Kamph and Orwell’s 1984 better yet read all the history you can get concerning politics and government from the early 1900’s and I don’t just mean America history. Here’s what I don’t get the Electoral College. It was originally designed to keep the big states from controlling the presidential election well that’s how it working now. It’s what makes people feel that their vote doesn’t mean anything. Looking at the election right now in any other country in the world Clinton is President. She won the popular vote albeit only a few hundred thousand votes but if she ran in Colombia she would have one with that margin. I think it time America let the people elect their president. Any other national organization that elects officers goes by popular vote. If we did that then people in small states would feel that their vote really meant something. The Electoral College has out lived its original purpose and it’s time to change. This is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin Colombia.

Well Trump supporters you got what you wanted but don’t expect all those jobs to come back to you home town anytime soon. There are a couple of reasons for this. The big one of course is profit. Companies are not going to start paying all those benefits that American workers want including the high wages and health care. The next reason is most manufacturing jobs are becoming obsolete with the introduction of robotic workers and now with the advances in artificial intelligence the American factory worker is a thing of the past. Now as for that wall across our southern border. Well let’s say he builds it whose going to do those jobs that immigrants are doing now. You know landscaping, construction, common labor. Even these jobs can be replaces with robotics. You given the racists in this country the idea that White America will be back. First of all white Americans are fast becoming the minority in this country that wasn’t there’s in the first place. If you think I’m wrong look at some towns in New Jersey where Patel has replaced Smith as the most common name in the phone book. There are jobs being taken by immigrants but we keep looking in the wrong direction. In other words stop looking at Mexico and start looking at Asia. When was the last time you dialed a 800 number and got a Hispanic voice? I think that there are going to be a lot of changes in America I just don’t think they’re going to be ones people hope for or like. This is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia. It’s the last Sunday before the election and I know we’ve fooled around with me running for president, but now reality time. Jeff is 70 years old and has even been an elected at one time on the Democratic ticket. He says that after that he didn’t vote for almost twenty years because it was such a horrible experience. He believes all politicians are crooked to some extent and don’t have the interests of the regular people at heart. Assuming he is correct in his opinion this election should be canceled and we should start all over from scratch. In case you’ve missed it Jeff and I don’t belong to political parties because we like to think for ourselves. Growing up Jeff says he watched his friends chose parties based on how they felt about the parents. That is if they got along good then they would probably chose their party as well as their sport teams. We aren’t born Republican or Democrat, just like we aren’t born a racist. These things are taught to us by those around us. We don’t believe things will ever change with the system the way it is now and unfortunately we don’t have an alternative.
Now let’s look at this year’s participants shall we. We have a few third party candidates that have a very loyal following but not enough to allow them to mount a real challenge. Part of this can be explained by lack of major funding because they’re opinions are not in line with that of the money people. The other part is people have been conditioned to the two party system, and won’t pay any attention to so called outsiders. Which is strange since one of the candidates Donald Trump goes around telling everyone he’s an outsider. So let’s look at Trump he claims the system is rigged against him, well if that ws the case I don’t think he would have been nominated in the first place. He’s not the outsider he claims to be he’s from the 1 percent and those people have never been known to show compassion for the little guy. So if he does get elected I don’t expect any great changes for the good. Then you have Hillary on the other side and according to her foes she’s the devil. I don’t believe she’s the devil but just another crooked politician. I think she can be either very good or a real disaster. I think she’s like Bush she’ll want to prove she’s better than Bill and that America made a mistake when they didn’t choose her instead of Obama the first time around. Now she can go like Bush and make a colossal mistake or she could possibly in her attempts to prove she better make some really good changes, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. I think America you’re like the Cubs before this year it’s sort of wait till next year. this is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.
