WHO DO YOU OWE?
July 24, 2014
So I was watching this celebration for a Colombian soccer player yesterday and I started thinking (Not always a good idea). Anyhow the guys name is James Rodriquez and he just signed a six year contract with Real Madrid. Now for those of you who don’t follow the sport that would be like the signing of Johnny Manziel in pro football. But here’s the thing he got to do what he did in the world cup because his teammate Falcao was injured after helping the Colombian team qualify for the World Cup. Now as I said this got me thinking about everything we achieve in life can be traced back to someone else. Like that great job you got well somebody had to hve it before you so that meant they got promoted, fired or quit. So you owe that great job to either there fortune or misfortune. It’s the philosophy of Yin and Yang or a Physics principle. For every action there is a reaction. Gee this sound deep doesn’t it? Well maybe it is because you do owe somebody and we never think of those people when the result is good but when it’s bad we always run round looking for someone to blame besides ourselves. So why is when some good come our way will say thank you to God or whatever but not to the guy that got fired, died, got transferred, or promoted, or something else. Maybe we should all just stop a minute and say thank you I know I should and so should James. This is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia
WHY IS BERRETA MOVING?
July 23, 2014
Well I started a new policy yesterday if there’s nothing really important to write about I’m going to sleep all day. Anyhow I got up this morning and read an article about Beretta moving its gun manufacturing form Maryland to Tennessee because of tougher gun control laws. Now Beretta says tht the new laws would force it to stop making most of the weapons built in Maryland. Well my question is what the hell were they making there? I mean if you’re making and selling legitimate guns and not shipping them to people who will put them in the wrong hands what’s the problem? The same thing is going on in Colorado which I don’t understand. I think if you want to a gun for protection then a revolver or a shotgun is a good idea, not an AK47. With a revolver you know it’s going to fire and not jam on you and with a shotgun you don’t have to worry about being real accurate plus you can go hunting with it, if you want. Now I’m assuming you’re keeping the guns in your house for protection and not carrying them around. If you are carrying, a pistol still makes since. A semiautomatic pistol with a 12 round magazine will not do you anymore good then a six shot revolver if you don’t know how to use it. I mean you want to protect your life not go to war. Getting back to the gun companies moving what do you think they have to hide that their afraid of laws that limit haw they sell and things like ammo capacity. If they’re making and selling gun in a law abiding way why are they afraid of some laws? I know they’ll say because the government is trying to take away their second amendment rights under the constitution. Bull shit! Maybe it’s time to tweak that amendment so that it becomes a little more current. And then maybe the police can do something about illegal guns being sold on the streets. I know before we left the country it was just as easy to get illegal firearms it was to get drugs. Well that’s it time to go back to bed. This is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.
IT’S MONDAY
July 21, 2014
Ah Monday morning what say we take a look at the news this morning that’s usually good for a laugh? First up we have the swearing in of the new President in Colombia as well as new members of the legislator. One thing stood out and that’s President Santos could put an insomniac to sleep with his speeches what ever happened to taking some public a courses when you in school. Here’s something else Shakira has a 100 million followers on Facebook. I guess those hips of hers must talk some really sexy shit. You know, if it was a Nobel Prize winner they might not even have a Facebook page. Here’s one of my favorites in order to punish the Russian President it has been o to take away his hosting of the next World Cup. Oh yeah that will hurt the cost of building the sites for the games can now be used to buy gun and ammo which he like better than Futbol anyway. Oh and here’s one last thing Medellin beat Nacional for the second time this year. Well that’s it this Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.
TIME TO REWRITE
July 18, 2014
Well one of Jeff’s respected friend tried to read his latest book Death Comes Home and she found it too difficult to read because of missed capitalization and punctuation. So it back to the editing process and a rewrite Jeff says he needs a new editor but he’s got no money so this might take awhile. Jeff is happy to have one friend at least who would take the time to tell him the truth. But that was yesterday and today is another day, this does mean a delay in the publication of A Child is Gone. He wants to get Death fixe up before he completes this one. He wishes the next time he offers one of his books for free other people would take the time to read it and tell him what they think. At least this friend liked the story so there is hope the problem can be worked out soon. Tomorrow is Jeff’s grandson’s birthday party although today is his actual birthday. He’s a great kid very intelligent and is always making Jeff smile. Jeff say’s if he gets any good photos he’ll put them up so you can see what a great grandson he has. Well I have to get ready to party gets here from school, so this is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.
CHILDREN
July 17, 2014
Since Jeff has been writing a book about a missing kid I thought I’d ask you guys what the hell is wrong with people? Kids go missing everyday some are found in minutes some are never found. Who takes a kid is it a pedophile or a parent or is it some government conspiracy to steel gifted kids? I don’t know pedophiles are sick disgusting people that should be executed not rehabbed. They are probably the third worst of the bunch no 2 is parents. You don’t love each other anymore so you decide to use the kids to hurt one another. Now I know sometimes parental kidnapping is done in the belief that it’s in the child interest. But most of the time it’s because one parent doesn’t want to pay child support or another parent wants to hurt the other by depriving them of the ability to see their kids. I mean using kids in a custody battle is just making a generation of really emotionally disturbed people and we have enough of them now thank you very much. So what does that leave us with the crazy theory that governments are kidnapping kids because they have some mystical power? Well the governments of the world have been trying to find people with extraordinary mental powers since World War 2 I think could be longer. Now if this is true this makes government the worst of the lot. Because they not only deprive parents of being able to watch their children grow up they deprive the kids of their childhood for what usually results in nothing. I don’t understand anything but I have seen parents so wrapped up in themselves that they have idea their child just walked out of the store. In today’s world parents work and Nanny’s , babysitters and daycare are watching their kids sorry to inform you but that removes nurturing from a child’s growth maybe that’s why they do drugs and shoot up school. I do know one thing it make s them prime for running away or being taken. Well I could go on all day but I won’t this is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin. Colombia.
HERES MORE STUFF ABOUT STUFF
July 16, 2014
People love it when I write about stuff, I guess because they think it’s not politics or some other rant of Jeff’s. Webster defines stuff a couple of ways first it’s a noun meaning material, supplies or equipment. Second it’s a group or pile of things that are not specifically defined. Now most of Jeff’s rants fit in the second category along with what’s in our closets, cellars, and garages. Stuff is fun to talk about because we all have stuff probably too much stuff. Your pets have stuff wild animals have stuff everybody has stuff. When you think about it stuff has stuff pretty cool huh. Now you know from my other posts concerning stuff that the problem is we don’t know what to do with the stuff when we don’t want it anymore. One thing we do is give it to poor people that’s a good thing but what do they do when there done with all the stuff. They throw it out and it end up where all stuff ends up eventually the dump or the recycling plant either way it ends up making more stuff and we start all over again with more stuff. Even this blog is stuff and I can stay here all day and keep writing stuff about stuff but this is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.
WHAT A BUNCH OF—-
July 15, 2014
So I wake up this morning turn the computer (Cats can do this you we ain’t stupid) and the first story I see on Yahoo News is Colombia’s president Santos tell people in South Florida what a good investment Colombia is. Now in the same article it mentions that he’s at a conference for Goldman Sachs. They are beyond a doubt the largest dirt bags in the world and have been screwing the little guy since the American Revolution. And if that wasn’t bad enough trade with South Florida was down four percent last year. Santos stands there and tells the world that drug and rebel violence is behind them now when statistics show it the highest level in ten years since he started his peace process. You want more ok here it is while the TV stations have been using the whole hour news shows to talk about the World Cup the neglect to mention the Colombia’s main oil pipe line was cut by rebels on Friday disrupting the movement of 70 % of Colombia’s oil. Now I’m not telling the world don’t invest in Colombia but I think they should be careful because as I said when Goldman Sachs is involved only the wealthy 1% stand to make out. I live in Medellin and I see the hundreds of homeless people live in under bridges, in storm drains, parks, and even sidewalks. I notice prices going up ever so slightly but enough to scare me and I have a good income. Everywhere you look high rise apartments are going up increasing the stress on the cities intra structure. I think the Colombian people need to make sure that investment money coming from the US or other countries gets distributed fairly and all go into Santos and his elitist friend’s pockets. THIS SHOULD NERVER EVER HAPPEN
July 14, 2014
Over the weekend a friend, who I had met on Facebook and with whom I share a lot of common interests, received a phone that no one should ever get. His 28 year old son was shot to death at a bus stop in Chicago. There has been no one arrested as of yet and no motive other than mistaken identity. I have often wondered why these things happen but I’ve never been able to come up a reason. I expect the wackos to say he should have been carrying a gun since concealed carry permits are east to get in Chicago. Yeah like maybe if had a gun they could of got into a shootout on the street and more people might have been shot. I’m not against people owning guns but carrying them around cities I’m not in favor of. People go to ranges and learn gun safety and then walk around and they know how to handle a gun in a bad situation. Well until you’ve been shot at or had a gun pointed at you have no idea how you’d react. I’ve seen firsthand how trained police officers can panic in a shoots fired situation I also know what it’s like to be shot at and have a gun shoved in your face. You don’t just calmly take aim and shoot the other person. A famous instance took place In New York a few years ago when police detectives tried to question a man as he entered a hall way. The man made a mistake of reaching for his wallet one of the policemen yelled gun and after sixty yes sixty shots had been fired a unarmed man lay dead in the hallway having been shot only once. The point of this post isn’t about the use of firearms by police it’s about the gun manufacturers having to take some responsibility for some of these weapons getting into the hands of bad people. I think deeper background checks greater security at the manufacturing point and the ability to track weapons to purchaser. I also think the gun manufacturers and dealers should dedicate some of their enormous incomes to stopping illegal sales and should lobby for much stiffer penalties for illegal gun sales. Do I think any of this will stop all the violence? No I don’t but if one family doesn’t have to get that midnight phone call about their child it will be worth it. WHY
July 11, 2014
So since I can’t find anything I want to really bitch about in the news lets revert to an old standby the question why. Why is if you believe part of something but not the complete thing you get criticized from both sides. Such as Jeff’s belief that people should have the right to own guns and hunt if that’s what they want to do but he doesn’t agree that people need thirty round magazines or semi automatic rifles and shot guns to do this. Now I could go on and on with this one topic but I think you understand. How about the PETA person you know the animal right s people that don’t want you to eat meat but ware leather shoes and belts. They tell you to eat vegetables but when you tell them that it’s been proven plants feel thing you told it’s different. How about you believe in superior being but you refuse to call them a god and think all religions are hypocritical. How about that girl you’ve known since she was sixteen and is now sixty two and you say she didn’t age well you can’t remember her as a youth? Why is if you don’t actually believe something and other people do that you consider them nut jobs? As Jeff has gotten older he tries hard not to get in arguments with certain people because he realizes it’s a waste of time and energy. He instead tries to find other things of interest to discuss and if he can’t well he just stops dealing with those people because they are to closed up to experience anything new. This is common amongst older folk’s maybe that’s why we can’t change anything in politics. This is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.
MORE STUFF
July 10, 2014
Ok here’s some stuff you remember stuff well this time it’s about stuff people write about in the news. First up it’s a scientific fact that cows fart more methane gas into the air then any human or animal. Now you see this is interesting stuff because I would have bet the house it was going to be Elephants. Just goes to show you I don’t know everything about stuff. Next up we have Philippine priests telling Catholic doctors not to issue birth control. This is a nation where there is poverty everywhere; I think they’re afraid the Muslim population is getting to big and there trying to catch up. Crazy stuff right can’t feed the people you have nut lets go and make more. Next Rooster fertility problem hit us and chicken prices to rise. Well maybe if they got the chickens some nice lingerie and played some nice romantic music something besides the prices would go up. This stuff just keeps getting crazier. The ACLU just came out against a law designed to protect LGBT I thought ACLU stood for American Civil Liberties Union so what’s going on. See what I tell you there’s all kinds of stuff out there and nobody knows what to do with it me I’m going to sleep on it. This is Flounder saying Ciao from Medellin, Colombia.
