MORE TROUBLE

I read an article this morning that said the Mid East confounds the United States. Well that came as no surprise. We didn’t understand how people in Germany could condone the acts of Hitler. We have a tendency to react using politics as a guide line. We let the media influence our decisions on world events. This caused us to go into Iraq when we had no reason to and ended up with us destabilizing the region. Now all that time and manpower spent there appears to have accomplished nothing and we act surprised. We didn’t understand how the Vietnamese didn’t want our help or we didn’t care. We are responsible for at least part of the problem, if not all, that is facing us now. People want to blame Israel’s attitude for a lot of this. But if you look at history you’ll find the Islam and Christianity has been at odds with each other almost from the beginning. But here is an interesting fact all three religions stared in the same place. Maybe just maybe there’s just one God and he doesn’t belong to any of them. I don’t have a clue how you get three versions of God to become one when everyone thinks theirs is the one true God. Now I’m not even close to being religious but I think that all three are wrong that the real big guy is just waiting for somebody to come along and figure him out. If the world can do this in time it might have a chance otherwise the end of the worlds is just around the corner. This is Flounder ( and I’m bummed ) saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia

You know most people don’t know there opinions are being censored they just think nobody wants to hear it. Well that might be true but is you look around it does exist. If you teach in a Catholic school as a lay person (one who is not a catholic or priest) and you voice an opinion about a subject the church doesn’t want you talking about your fired. And since you signed an employment contract there’s nothing you can do about it. if you work for a individual and make comments that go against their beliefs you going to get fired and again there’s nothing you can do. Speaking up about your employer gets you in trouble speaking up about your Government will get you in more trouble. What you say we can’t criticize our own Government. Well you can until your criticism starts to cause problems then you will be labeled and harassed. Even if you succeed in fending off the Lawyers, and whatever the Government sends after you, you will have to go underground or keep your opinions to yourself. Most people end up deciding that it’s not worth the hassle to keep on criticizing the establishment. They have families and bills that need to be paid so they end up keeping their mouth shut or try to run for public office so that they can change things. I’m sorry to say that doesn’t usually work out well or as hoped. I’m not telling people they should keep their mouths shut what I’m saying is if you’re going to go up against the powers in control be aware that they’re not going to sit around and do nothing. Today is the thirteenth anniversary of 9/11 and an article on yahoo asked if we were any safer today. Well I think in the US were safer but I thought we were pretty safe back then too. If you live in the Mid East I’d say your life wasn’t that safe anymore. The wars that have been fought over there to remove dictator such Sadam, Gaddafi and Al Assad have given extremists a chance to make life a living hell for those who don’t believe like them. In the US you’re safer but the Government has been using the threat of Terrorism to watch your every move. We say we fight for freedom but in the US you have to be careful what you ask for. I think the ones who died on September 11 2001 weren’t thinking they we’re Hero’s and were defending Freedom. They were trying to save lives theirs included. Most didn’t have to time to realize it was a terror attack. I think remembering that day we shouldn’t be seeking vengeance we should be honoring those that died doing what came naturally to them. They were trying to live and help others to live they didn’t care what had happened, that some nut job had convinced people to fly planes into buildings. We can hate on another day today we need to thank those that survived and honor those that didn’t. We also need to remember that people died that day in Pennsylvania and Washing DC not just in the Twin Towers. So as I finish this post I ask don’t forget ALWAYS REMEMBER but remember the heroes. MORE STUFF ABOUT STUFF

Here’s some more stuff about stuff since people seem to like this the best. You know who has the most stuff? The military and they just leave it lying around when there done with it. You can find stuff in just about any field in the world. The bad thing is that no matter how old it is it can still kill. Even the places where they made the stuff are dangerous such as old gun manufactures. Some of the materials used leave a residue that can leach into the ground and eventually contaminate drinking water. Some chemicals can leach into the air and cause humans to have respiratory problems. The stuff they left during the 1st and 2nd world war still kills people today. So does stuff left from all the other wars. You know most of this stuff could be recycled and used to make something useful. But the governments think it cost too much to do that so they just leave the stuff there and let some poor innocent child get killed by it. The worst stuff we leave behind is the radioactive stuff that won’t go away and makes whole areas unsafe to live in even making something as harmless as a watch dial can have long lingering effects. So why do we keep making stuff? Well to make money and they’ve made us into a culture that always wants the newest or deadliest stuff. So someone came up with the idea to do away with everything and go back to the Stone Age. There’s a problem with that as well. When the first Stone Age came around here were very few humans now there are Billions of humans and no matter what you do there is still going to be a lot of stuff. What kind of stuff you ask? Well how about all the shit and piss we leave. Without the technology to process this stuff the planet will start to stink and we’ll run out of fresh water. WHY DOES HE DO IT?

You know the people who are really successful writing blog usually stick to one topic. But not me and Jeff we like to write about whatever is running thru our screwed up minds at the moment. Does that mean we’ll never get rich from writing a blog? The answer is yes we’ll never get rich. But that’s not the point the point is to have fun writing. It’s the same reason Jeff writes books. Of course he wishes he sold a few but he’s not going to stop. The funny thing is people encourage him to write this blog but they won’t subscribe they encourage him to keep writing books but buy o r review them. But that doesn’t discourage him he just keeps on going. It does however piss me off if his books are that bad tell him to stop if this blog is that horrible tell him to stop. He probably won’t listen to you so maybe you should offer to edit his stuff for him so maybe people will like it. Jeff has one book to finish and then he has a bunch more ideas for other characters and stories. Maybe he’ll get lucky before he dies that would be cool. So Jeff was looking at what movies are going to be coming out in the future and couldn’t believe how many remakes of old movies and TV shows were coming. I mean what possessed some movie company to make a movie from the TV show CHIPS or Saved by the Bell. It’s bad enough that there is a 14th or so version of Hercules out there. There enough Batman and superman movies to make three or four TV series. They’ve made so many Star Wars and Star Trek movies that the story line has become secondary to special effects. Look if you’re going to bring back old films let’s bring back Coyote and the Roadrunner or Mighty Mouse. Let’s do Bambi with modern special effects so we watch as his family gets their brains blown out in 3D. Saved by the bell was one of those shows they put on Saturday morning instead of cartoons. So know it deserves a feature movie that will be done without the original cast. Yeah that will make millions. I have nothing against the past but couldn’t we come up with something new. Here’s a novel idea let’s make a movie where the acting is more important than the special effects. Maybe we’ll find another Bogart or Bacall or Boris, Cable or even a De Havilland. FLOUNDER IS DEPRESSED AGAIN

You know I shouldn’t read the news before I decide to write a post. When I do I either get so depressed I end up writing nothing or I go on a rant. Why are our precedents so screwed up? Why do we worry about animals more than people? Why is the slit in a celebrities dress important? Now before all the animal rights people start screaming at me about why worry about animals let me say this. First I’m a cat so that sort of makes me an expert on animals. I’m not saying we shouldn’t worry about animals and their survival in this world. What I’m saying is we should put it in perspective. Here are the things I think we should worry about. Child abuse is one, the missing children are another, and hunger which I think is a much underrated problem the US. There are more the human slave trade, the loss of privacy and the loss of freedom. There are a lot more things we should worry about and try to correct but I guess it’s easier to figure out why your team didn’t win than how to stop human sex trafficking. WHATS REALLY IMPORTANT?

At what point did sports and what some slutty entertainer is doing become more important to us then people killing each other. In Colombia the story of a soccer player’s move from one team to another took up more than half a newscast. On the internet you see stories about what this or that star is doing taking up headlines. Now I’m all for putting good news on the air to balance all the tragedy in the world. I just don’t think a story about Lindsey Lohan’s dress or the fact that she’s showing her legs should be that story. It’s sad but this kind of news can replace stories about starving or poor children around the world. I personally don’t give a shit what Justin Bieber is doing or Brittany, Lindsey, or any of the others or doing. I want to know why the economy is screwed up and who’s really responsible. I want to know how many more American have to be executed before we carpet bomb the shit out of those assholes. If you want a happy story to write about or put on TV there are lots of them about ordinary people doing wonderful things. And you shouldn’t have to dig those stories up they should already be up front instead of some story about what a football player said about retiring. STUPID

Anybody who has ever flown on a airplane knows there are a lot of thing that can cause delays or interruptions in the flight. There’s weather, security delays, equipment etc.. Well now you can add being obnoxious to the list of causes. With all the talk about airlines giving you more legroom it seems there’s still not enough. Recently several flights have been forced to land unexpectedly because passengers were fighting about, you guess it, legroom. Now Jeff is 6’2” and about 220 pounds he has had his knees crushed on more than one occasion. But he has never gotten out of his seat and threatened anybody. He has tripped a couple of people as they were disembarking the plane. I think the other passengers should be able to sue the one that caused the disruption in the flight for time lost and aggravation. There’s probably something in the ticket that prohibits that. Because you know with all the lawyers out there somebody would have thought of this already. Well Jeff has three plane rides coming up in December when he heads for the US so we’ll see if he’s still as tolerant of assholes as he has been in the past. PROGRESS

OK so I didn’t post over the weekend we were busy Chilin out. So you can see the pictures showing progress on Jeff’s train set up. I guess it’s cool I really don’t know. He says because he can’t go fishing he’s going to build trains. The week end was quiet Ruby went to a girl friend’s house for the night then got here hair cut early the next day. The hair cut looks good and Jeff had a day to eat all the wrong foods. Jeff has to make a lot of stuff for his trains because they don’t sell the stuff in Medellin. I should say there is one store that sells train sets but they are the most expensive on the market. The brand name is Marklin and they sell for around 1,500 dollars at the present exchange rate.
