This has been one scary week with Kim and the Trumpster threatening to blow each other up. For you young folk out there that don’t remember the Cold War, they use to say that there was a mathematical formula for predicting a first strike. Apparently if either Russia or the US reached a prediction a survival rate of I believe 27% that was good enough for a first strike. Now if that’s not scary enough for you think about this, no one knows the exact effect of hundreds of Megaton weapons being set off in the atmosphere within hours of each other. Oh they’ll give you fallout patterns and other bullshit but truth be told no one knows. Do we know if the oxygen will be burned off to a degree that we’ll all suffocate? It’s a pretty good guess that the ass hole who will be pushing the buttons will be in bunkers with years supplies but the rest of will be screwed. All those bombs going off will alter wind patterns so those places they say will be safe from fallout most likely won’t be. When we were in junior high my friends and I decided that when the alert went out we would try to get to the top of the Empire State building with some good scotch so there would be a little brighter flame in the center of the explosion. I should say here that back then A Bombs were exploded in the air for maxim effect and that the ideal height was the same as the Empire state building. Why did we want to do this because in the fifties they should clips of what the people looked like a few years after Hiroshima? The biggest reason we haven’t had a nuclear war yet is simply because no one would survive. As crazy as Kim and the Trumpster I believe, at least for now, there are enough sane people around to keep them from hitting the button. But one thing the Trumpster should be very careful about is don’t back that little shit into a tight corner. Because if you do you better hope you’re staying at your local bombproof resort. Well here we are another Sunday I look at Sunday as the end of the week while others say it’s the beginning of the week. I don’t think it makes much difference in the long run. Anyhow yesterday was Fats and his wife’s 13th wedding anniversary. Something that I’m sure will surprise the world. But ok congratulations Fats and Mrs. Fats now let’s get down to business.
It has come to my intention that there has been a movement in both parties over the last few years to restrict voting and public assembly for the purpose of protesting government policies. There are at present around 20 states either with signed laws or proposed laws that would in some manner restrict protesting or increase penalties. Now to be fair most of these make some sense, the part that bothers me is that they can be left up to interpretation which would allow for misuse of the law. There is also a move to restrict who can vote be the use of voter registration laws again on the surface they don’t look that bad. But here there is a lot more room for misuse of the law. Both of these instances once again show how politicians don’t want the common man involved in decision making. As I’ve stated here before politicians not just in the US but everywhere don’t that the majority of people know what’s best for them and that they need that elitist to show them the way. If you stop looking at your cell phone for a minute you might notice that what I’m saying is actually happening all around the world. If you look at Venezuela you’ll see that they are so desperate to curtail protest that they are going to rewrite the constitution. Now that might take protest to civil war but unless the army joins in it won’t stand a chance of succeeding. Well look it’s a beautiful day down here so I’m going to stop and say CIAO from Flounder and Fats in Medellin, Colombia.

Well the Trumpster didn’t get his wish and Obama Care is still there but for how long. Here’s what I don’t get it took a Bi- Partisan act to get it passed in the first place and almost immediately afterward Republicans said they hated it and it should be gone. Since I don’t live in the United States anymore and have never had to personally deal with Obama Care I really don’t know how it works. What I do know it got people that didn’t have insurance insurance. That was the excuse Health insures always used as to why premiums were so high. They were blaming it on the number of uninsured in the country and the cost of caring for them. The Trumpster is so pissed off he couldn’t replace Obama care with his plan or I should say the Republican plan, that he’s threatening what would amount to defunding it which would leave millions of sick people without insurance or financially unable to obtain it. This brings us to what the hell is going on in this country? Are we so racist that we’re willing to let people die so that we can ruin the black Presidents Legacy? I live in a country where my insurance costs me about 45 dollars a month. I live in a country where just about everybody gets health insurance. I live in a country where the specialist I had to see for my back was a graduate of the Harvard Medical School and that visit cost me a 3 dollar co pay. You on the other hand live in a country where insurance can cost more than rent and every time somebody want s to reduce the cost the congress and the senate get all bet out of shape. If the Democrats propose something the Republicans hate it if the Republicans propose a plan the Democrats hate it and neither one will propose one that’s good for the little guy. Remember I’ve said this many times before the people that are voting on your health care have never had to worry where there’s was coming from. The United States is the only world power without universal health care and our in fighting about the issue is just another reason the rest of the world laughs at you. Oh and here is one last point it’s easier to get pet insurance in the US than it is to get it for you. This is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.

What a week the news was so depressing either the Trumpster was blaming everybody for his problems or some celebrity has died. So I see the Trumpster is appointing another no nothing to a office. This one is for the Department of Agriculture as Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics. He’s exmilitary having attended bot the Air Force and Army War Colleges, which I’m sure will help him greatly in a department that is basically about science. He also shares the Trumpster’s opinion that Climate change is a hoax although not necessarily perpetrated by the Chinese. Now I have a problem with people who deny climate change simply because they just deny it out of hand without but forth some sort of genuine scientific proof. I have an open mind about that and am willing to something that makes sense not someone screaming at me that it’s bull shit and a Chinese conspiracy. It like the people who believe the world is flat, the difference with these people is they’re willing to sit down and talk and more importantly listen. But back to climate deniers most are people who make their money from fossil fuels or the manufacturing where the restrictions needed to safeguard our world would have the most impact. The flat earth people are more about a conspiracy and since I believe some of the conspiracies about JFK I’m willing to sit and listen. I would do the same for the people that deny climate change if they weren’t getting rich. This is Flounder and Fats hoping the coming week is a better one saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.

Well I’m bored with all this political bullshit and I think just about everybody else is too. The problem with that is if we stop paying attention we’ll get screwed even more. The sad thing about all this is I’m not sure there’s going to be a world, never mind a country for my grand children to live in. Sounds a little depressing doesn’t it? But with all the wacko world leaders especially that little nut job in North Korea the outlook ain’t great. So listen let’s talk about what me and fats do during the week when I’m not posting here. First I now have my own Facebook page Flounder the cat where you’ll be able to read my blog if you aren’t subscribed to it at WordPress. Next I like to sleep about 19 hours a day, which allows me to stay up at night and keep an eye on Fats. Now fats he’s still trying to finish his latest book Three Years Later about his Android detective ILF. He also does wood carving the pictures above are of his last three projects. He’s still an amateur but he appears at least with the Orca to be getting there. He’s going to try engraving designs on glass this week, which should prove interesting. His niece is supposed to be coming for a visit next month that will be fun; I don’t think I’ve ever met her. Well it’s time for my nest eight hour nap so I’ll just say this Flounder and Fats saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.

Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Washing DC, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Now what is this list of states about? They’re the ones that neither Presidential campaign bothered to visit during the last election. Twelve states made up 94% of the campaign visits. Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and Michigan had a total of 273 visits. I think if you’re in the list of no visits you might as well as secede since it looks like that you really don’t count. The Trumpster even said he would bother wasting his money going to Wyoming. Only Four Presidents have visited all 50 states they are George H W Bush, the only one to do it in his first term, Bill Clinton, Nixon, and Obama. I barely remember reading about Presidential Candidates would get on a train and travel for months around the country stopping in even the smallest places if there were people waiting to see them. I remember reading about debates that weren’t scripted where they really had to think on there feet. I firmly believe that for us to have a President that truly represents all of us the Electoral College system must change or gotten rid of all together. I think that the fact a president who is elected to represent everyone won’t even bother to visit all the states is a disgrace. Let us know how you think in the comment section of this blog. For those of you who don’t know me I’m the one Flounder refers to as Fats. I’m 71 years old born after WWII 1946 to be exact so I’ve been around for awhile. I don’t know how many of my reads remember growing up in the fifties with the Cold War I full swing. Khrushchev banging his shoe on at the UN air raid siren testing and if you did any real reading you knew that if they decided to drop a bomb you weren’t going to survive. We had Duck and cover drills which meant butting our hands over our heads and hiding under our desks at school. But then it looked like the world finally got it communism looked like a failed idea and except for a little blip involving Cuba it looked like we scrap our bomb shelters and start to enjoy the good times. Well that last for awhile until this nut job inherited leadership of North Korea and America elected the dumbest President ever when it came to world politics. The threat of Nuclear War is greater now than in the fifties. The world has two egotistical ass holes that both have their fingers on buttons that could end civilization as we know it, and the really sad part of this is that there supporters are just as naïve and retarded as they are. I thought that in my old age I wouldn’t have to worry about be fried alive but I guess I was wrong. This is Fats saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia. I just read that Caroline Kennedy is considering running for senator in New York State in 2018. It seems a lot of people are excited for this, I’m not so sure yet. First I would like to know if the party machine is behind this or is she going to be independent. Second are the people that are excited about his excited because A she’s a woman, B she has the Kennedy name, or C they think she’ll do a good job. I think she’s a good person I’m not sure she’s ready for Washington politics. I’ve seen it ruin nice people and send them home and I’ve seen corrupt nice people. I hope people who vote for her don’t vote because she’s a Kennedy or a woman or a Democrat but rather because they see some hope for the future in her. She apparently has also expressed some possible interest in the Presidency. If this is true she probably wouldn’t run until 2024. Why not 2020 you ask because I think that if the Trumpster lasts that long it will be to nasty a campaign, one I don’t think she or anyone else with long term aspirations wants any part of. I still think that this Democrat Republican thing needs to be changed. I would love to see her run as a strong Independent I think she might have a better chance. Remember the Kennedy name has lost a lot of it magic in political circles the last few years and being a good ambassador to Japan doesn’t give you a huge advantage even if everybody says she did a great job. It’s that time again for me and fats to comment on something. Today I decided to be like a lot of the media and politicians and see what the Democratic Party can do to fix itself. I took a look at lists of potential 2020 Democratic p Presidential candidates. There are several out there I just scanned them because a lot of them I’ve never heard of before. So let look at some names we know. First up good old Hillary Clinton who will be 71 in 2020, she had stamina problems in 2016 and also was disconnected like the rest of her party form the voters. I don’t think she’ll run and I really don’t think she should. Next up we have Joe Biden who will be 77 in 2020 I think if he was to run it should have been 2016 I don’t think he has a chance in 2020. Then you have Bernie Sander who will be 78 in 2020 and they’re already throwing dirt at him and his wife now. I’m not sure at hi s age he want to go through the bull shit of a Presidential campaign. One of the youngest people mentioned is Corey Booker. I am fairly certain that after the Trumpster America is not ready for young Black man from New Jersey to be President. Some interesting names coming up are Michele Obama and Oprah Winfrey. Now Michele would be interesting depending on how much backlash still exits against women, blacks and wives of Ex- Presidents. As far as Oprah Winfrey goes I’ll refer you to the comedian Sinbad who once said he considered her the most dangerous person in America because a little knowledge is dangerous when applied to people. Our personal opinion is that there is someone out there that we haven’t heard from yet who can straighten this country out that the people can accept and I don’t mean the Trumpster or any of his minions. Well the next couple of years should be interesting pay attention or you’ll likely miss something important. Oh and by the way I’d like to see Senator Al Franken run just for the laughs.This is Flounder and fats saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.

Ok it’s Fathers Day and I’m actually writing this on Saturday since we have family plans for tomorrow. This week was an exceptional bad one in terms of disasters. First as you’ve all heard a 24 story apartment went up in flames in London England and as of this morning 58 people have lost their lives. I’m not a fire fighter or arson inspector or anything else that might make me qualified to say what happen there, but I will say I’ve never seen film of a fire that climbed that fast or could gut a building in such a short time. it won’t make a difference to those that died but somebody did something that was really wrong in building the building. Second tragedy was a shooting that took place at a ball field in Washington DC, where Republicans were practicing for a charity event later in the week; several people were hit including the ranking member of congress Steve Scalise who was critically injured. What was even more tragic was the partisan reaction with both parties blaming the rhetoric of the other as the cause of the shooting. There was even a call from some rep from Kentucky to loosen gun rule in Washington so they could all carry guns to Congress. Boy that’s all we need crazy politicians walking around the capital all carrying guns. The third and final tragedy of the week happened out west and has become all too familiar. It was a work place shooting where a disgruntled employee shot and killed four people. Now I guess you want to see me write something about control or the lack of. But honestly I don’t know what to say. We’ve become a society where the use of violence to settle disputes seems to be the norm. No laws will stop this from continuing although some could make it worse. The why of this happening is way above our pay grade and we wouldn’t begin to know where to start. You can see why I wrote this the day before Fathers Day, it just didn’t seem appropriate for a day in which we honor our fathers. I welcome any commentary you may have on a answer to this situation.
