What with you humans and all the garbage animals recycle everything but the way you guys are going you’re going to have to leave the planet soon. Just look at yourselves you pop out people at rate that says you’ll run out of food and fuel in the next 50 to 100 years you waste all natural resources and you throw all kinds of stuff out o pollute the environment. When somebody comes up with a use for something that you throw out and say we use this again for this or that. The first thing you hear is that’s too expensive nobody will do it easier to just throw it in the dump. Well that dump is now in the middle of the ocean and starting to cause all kind of trouble. Here’s the thing if you guys want to survive the next hundred years you need to stop popping out kids and find uses for all the shit you throw out. I fully understand that things can’t be built to last forever if they were nobody would buy anything and the economy would tank. But piling your crap in dumps and hoping it will magically disappear is just plain stupid and they call you the superior species on the Planet. What a crock! This is Flounder and I recycle everything saying CIAO from Colombia.

It that time of year again called election time it’s pretty much finished in the US but it’s still going on in other countries and keeping that in mind I recently saw an article that said not many people who can vote do vote. I think the biggest reason for that is apathy people just don’t care because they seem to always get disappointed by those they elect. That is because once they get in office they want to stay there and the little people aren’t going to give them enough money to do that so they star doing favors for the big boys and the promises they made to the little people don’t count anymore. The only place a regular persons vote can really amount to something is in a small town and even there the promise of something actually getting done that would help the little guy is extremely small. Since the end of the fifties government officials have felt that poor people don’t deserve the same protections and benefits that the Us Constitution says they do. Now you expect to hear stuff like this when you’re talking about other countries but not the good old USA, well I’m sorry but it’s probably more true there than anywhere else. You see other countries worry about their army revolting or the people revolting the US doesn’t the biggest reason is because we don’t like each other, white people don’t like Latinos Arabs Or blacks or any other color than white. Blacks don’t trust whites and it goes on with each ethnic group not willing to sit down and work together. If people ever did that and they could actually agree the US would be a much different place. Would it be better or worse I have no idea but the rich and powerful don’t want the people to make decisions. In Colombia the rebels say there for the little people the farmers yet they take their property and kill them. It’s the same around the rest of the world. Maybe someday the little guy will get a break in the mean time they just try and survive. This is Flounder (thank God I’m a cat) saying CIAO from Colombia

I just some photos that showed the Negotiators for Colombia rebels (FARC) partying on a yacht off Cuba and was surprised to see how upset people were. First most rebel leaders live much better than the grunts it’s the same in any army. They don’t live in caves they live in nice homes, look at the leader of the Farc he live in a suite in Caracas Venezuela not a tent in the jungle. Also look at these guys the woman negotiator looks like she just came from a week at a spa no a few years living and fighting in the jungle. It’s like when they have a prisoner release the rebel soldiers that bring the prisoners to the release point have starched uniforms and parade clean weapons. Did you ever see pictures of American soldiers coming out of the jungle in Viet Nam they looked and smelled like shit not like they just got of the parade grounds? The fact that these overweight and privileged negotiators are believed to represent the actual people that are doing the dirty work is absurd. They’re negotiating for their place in politics when they after they throw the fighters under the bus. This is when you can feel a little sympathy for the rebel fighters but not much and this isn’t just in Colombia it’s everywhere look at the recent Arab leader who was killed in a drone attack he lived in a 120,000 dollar farm in Pakistan which is like a small palace in that country. No revolutionary leaders for the most part don’t live the hard life there have been exceptions Fidel and Che but even when they’re in the field with their troops they have bigger tents better food and access to woman and booze. So you can see its far better to start a revolution then to be a soldier in one. This is Flounder, and I’m a lover not a fighter, saying CIAO from Colombia.

Greeting humans this is Flounder speaking just thought I’d take the time to say hello and talk about this Blog for people who might be reading it for the first time. Originally when my buddy Jeff and his wife Ruby brought to Colombia there was a lot to talk about in terms of a new life for me. Well now that we’ve been here for a couple of years and the novelty of living I a new country has worn off Jeff and I now write about whatever the hell we please sometime hot political issues sometimes about problems down here. We try to make the stories interesting and relevant but that doesn’t always happen and frankly I don’t care. I figure I’m somewhere between 64 and 72 years old and that gives me the right not to care. We sometimes get bored and post nothing for that day other days maybe we post a quote from George Carlin or maybe we’ll write about corruption in both the US and Colombia or the plight of the common man in both countries. I get up first in the morning and go watch the fly chasing birds flying outside my window, which is ten stories up, then I’ll go wake up everybody around 6am and go back to sleep. This is a great place to be retired but a lousy place if you’re not, but that’s for another post I hope you new people continue to read and the old ones don’t fall asleep in your oat meal. Jeff went to the eye specialist on Saturday only took about three months. He has cataracts but they don’t need surgery he has an injury and it’s kind of complicated but he’ll have a minor laser surgery to correct another small problem as for his vision he has to live with it but if there are any changes such as white flashes he has to get back to the doctor right away because it means his retina is detaching, fun and game right. The doctors down here are great it’s the system that sucks it just takes forever to get appointments. Well that’s for right now nobody has to worry he’s OK this is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin.

Today is Halloween or as they call it down here Children’s day it’s an excuse for adults to get dressed up as characters or real people they wish they could be. For kids it’s a great day of fun and scares for adult’s time to party. There will costume contests for everyone there will be hunted house tours as well. In the US specifically New Orleans there will be Cemetery tours and New Orleans has some really spooky ones. New Orleans had (I not sure if she still does) one of the best and hardest to get as invite party in the country at the author Anne Rice’s house. There will be a parade in Medellin and Bello down here but I’m sorry Colombia no on e can beat Greenwich Village New York for a Halloween parade. It’s also me day because we cats have a special relationship with Witches Ghosts and Goblins. If you been nasty to a cat during the past year, you could be in for a bad day and night so don’t let a Black walk across your path or thing could get strange. The sad thing about this day that some really sick people will try and hurt kids with bad candy or something worse. They pick today because the cowardly pricks can hide behind masks. Well let’s not think about that right now everybody have a fun and safe day this Flounder waiting for the ghosts to arrive saying CIAO from Transylvania no I mean Colombia.

I bet most of you are just like Jeff when it comes to understanding insurance policies. I sometimes think that people love to go around and confuse each other then complain about things they never understood in the first place. I don’t think most agents understand everything their selling you since policies are filled with a lot of fine print and legal mumbo jumbo. So when I hear the news from the US and they talk about Obama care I wonder do they really understand what they’re talking about or do they just like to complain. You know politicians buy a policy and then give to their lawyers to explain it to them that and their position in government makes sure there covered adequately. The rest of the world has to trust their relatives in the insurance business or the smooth talker that’s sitting across the dining room selling them this wonderful thing called an insurance policy. Most people aren’t aware of what it covers until they have to use it. That’s because it’s usually contained in a book the size of a dictionary. If the politicians want to reform Healthcare or other insurances they should first make sure they’re written in language that the common men can understand, then when everybody starts discussing it we’ll all know what the hell we’re talking about. This is a confused and bewildered Flounder saying CIAO from Colombia.

I read this article about this baby that never grew older she had just died last Thursday at the age of twenty but had never aged past the age of 1. Everybody is excited saying maybe her DNA will show how to stop the aging process. That’s all and good but like I’ve said many times in this blog if people live longer and certain diseases stop killing us where are we going to put all the people and how are we going to feed them. It’s like watching land developers build high rises in a crowded neighborhood so that they can but more people there. They never look at where the water is going to come from or anything else. Jeff spent a few years as a mechanic when he was younger and he realized designers and engineers never talk to each other when he had to drill holes to remove spark plugs from engines that were to tight for the space that was designed. Sure having a planet full of 21 year old looking people sounds really cool until you start worrying about all the other shit. This is an aging gracefully Flounder saying CIAO from Colombia.

Today I’m writing at the request of my buddy one eyed Jeff, he’s completing his third book. This one is a detective thriller of sorts tentatively called “Death Comes Home” his character returns from Afghanistan after serving as a Long Range Recon Sniper and doing things he can’t talk about for unnamed Intelligence organizations. After a short stint at being a cop he decides to return to school where he discovers he’s a genius when it comes to computers. So when he finishes his courses he goes to Newark NJ of all places and opens up a Private Investigation office. His first client turns out to be friends with someone he worked with overseas and is being hunted by an international drug concern out of the Infamous Golden Triangle in South East Asia. Oh and before I forget he’s also a Serial Killer. Now what Jeff needs is an idea for a cover he has no money to get one done professionally so he’s asking his friends out there to help out. Believe me when I say he needs all the help he can get and not just for a book cover this is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin.
