Ok world cup qualifiers continue this week with Colombia playing Bolivia I’m not a hundred percent sure this is a qualifier because I think Colombia has already qualified with 16 points. The US on the other hand is in a must win situation tomorrow when they play Costa Rica. A lot of my American friends are sitting there going who cares we don’t watch soccer in America, well with the demographics of the US changing they should watch it, it’s the number one sport in the world, and Americas population is getting more diverse every day. So I guess you say Jeff will be watching the game tomorrow and keeping a close eye on the US game. So while all that’s going on I’ll be in the closet because I’m just not a sports person unless they decide to make mice and bird chasing an Olympic sport CIAO.

Here’s a good example of today’s topic MONEY TALKS BULL SHIT WALKS. This could happen and has happened everywhere in the world so even though the story talks place down here it isn’t meant as an insult to Colombia. Over the weekend a tragedy happen a well to do young BMX rider was shot in down while minding his own business. As far as Jeff knows this kid had never done anything illegal wasn’t into drugs just loved to ride in BMX races. He was friends with the Olympic gold winner in the event who is a young Colombian woman. He was also a student of Ruby’s sun John now what I’m about to say has nothing to do with this kid personally he was a good boy he did nothing wrong except be standing in the wrong place at the wrong time. What my post is about is how the police reacted to this horrible crime the commander of the National Police game to Medellin and went on TV with the President of Colombia and said he was going to bring extra police to Medellin to find the killer and prevent this from happening again. Where the title of the blog comes is when you see where this happened and the fact that this happens in poor neighborhoods much more often without the same police reaction. What I’m trying to say unfortunately is that this same crime in a poor area would be written off it wouldn’t even make the news and this happen in every country. The most famous example of this attitude is OJ Simpson who according to his own Lawyer if he hadn’t had the monetary resources that he did would have been tried and convicted sentenced in about a month. This is really a sad comment on the democratic way of justice that’s supposed to be equal for everyone and isn’t. Look at the newspapers this morning where the headline is Lindsey Lohan Booked and then released do to overcrowding in the jail and this is the sixth time this has happened with her if this was an average citizen they would have been in jail for the full term the first time. I think it’s great that there doing all this increased police presence in Medellin I’m just disappointed that it took a young  somewhat wealthy youth to bring this about if they reacted this way when other poorer youths were gunned down maybe this young man would not have had to die and maybe he wins the next Olympics CIAO.

Well this is my 500^th post it should have happened about 14 days ago but you in the last year I’ve goofed off some so that Jeff could write his dumb books. It all adds up to 120,422 words and 248 pages in word. That’s a whole lot of BS I’ll tell you but I hope you enjoyed some of it at least it seems I get the most views when people think there are a lot of photos attached. That’s OK I just hope they read the content once in awhile it’s really hard to try and come up with something every day look at what I’m writing about today is it really ground breaking news that Jeff and I have produced this much crap, I don’t think so but I had nothing interesting to talk about. In the year plus that I’ve been writing this only one person keeps making comments some are in support others are questions about the opinion expressed all are read and all are answered some humorously others with a serious note. Jeff and I agree if somebody takes the time to write a comment they deserve an answer not matter what they say. Well as much as I hate to say this that’s all I got today CIAO

The above picture is a movie promotion but unless something changes soon it could become a real possibility no matter what the various religions think about it. Look at how they try to control us animals because they say there are too many of us running around the streets well if you stop abortions in say Pennsylvania you would gain about 35,000 more people a year. Now let’s say that’s an average for all 52 states that would mean we would be adding 1,820,000 births a year to the birthrate in America. The religious of the world say that’s a good thing but we don’t have an infinite supply of food and fuel as well as space so unless we manufacture food or start colonizing other planets sometime in the future starving will not just be a poor persons problem. It has been forecast that the world may only have 38 years of fuel quality oil left in the ground. The oil companies say don’t worry there’s enough but that’s just not possible every year more countries are brought into the modern world. As China becomes less a communist dictatorship and make s cars available to the public and increases its manufacturing capabilities it uses more oil and starts to compete for the available resources. That isn’t the only problem as the world’s population increases we need more food and housing and I hate to tell you this were running out of room. A good example of this is North Korea which has a uncontrolled population growth, they threaten war because the only people getting feed in that country is there one billion man strong army. So unless you want to start feeling like a dog or cat after neutering I would suggest you forget about the religions telling birth control and abortion are going to send you to hell and start looking around because hell ain’t that far away CIAO.

This is St. Patrick’s Day weekend and I think most people will start celebrating about an hour ago since tomorrow is Sunday and being fall down drunk on any Sunday except Super Bowl Sunday is deemed unacceptable. So if out and about today and you happen to see some sleeping in the cutter don’t disturb him or look disparaging at them they can’t help it their Irish. Today is also Ruby’s sister Olga’s birthday so there probably will be a few drunken Colombians laying around too. I’m not sure about a post for tomorrow but we’ll give a try it’s just that when Jeff goes out with Ruby they don’t usually get home until early the next morning and Jeff is to grumpy to help with the blog. Well you guys try and stay safe watch out for the other guy too he might be a cat lover CIAO.

OK here’s another Friday so what do you plan to do: let’s see the rules (you know the one I mean) say that if your single and not seeing anyone you should go out with friends and try to meet someone and if you’re married you stay home or try to fix up one of your single friends. Now doesn’t that sound like a great weekend starter, for people like Jeff it’s just another day nothing special unless you like to watch TV and then it sucks because there’s nothing good on TV. In America this weekend is Saint Patrick’s Day weekend which is an excuse for people to wear green, get drunk and throw up in the street. When Jeff first started working in restaurants he was a bartender and certain days were not fun New Years Eve and St. Patrick’s Day were among the worst days to work there were others but they weren’t drink until you drop Holidays. Jeff always referred to the day as Amateur day, because people who would ordinarily be in a bar came and pretended to be Irish, which means they got drunk made fools of themselves and “forgot to tip”. Down here people don’t need weekends or Holidays to do the same thing but tips are included in the prices of drinks at least. Well I haven’t been feeling that great lately so I’m headed to the couch to take a nap maybe I’ll be back later CIAO.

first Pope from Latin America and the first pope to be named Francis. I’ve heard that people are happy because they think he’ll bring more people back to the church. Jeff on the other hand thinks he’s ultra conservative and comes from the Jesuits who have been known as the Vatican’s intelligence agency for years, right up there with the CIA and Mossad. That doesn’t mean they’re bad or are going to go around and spy on everyone it does probably mean that there will be very little information coming out of the Vatican that hasn’t been very carefully scrutinized. Pope Francis also will, in Jeff’s opinion, take the church back words in terms of women having a place in the church. He also recently made what could be considered an extremely harsh statement regarding Homosexuals. Pope Benedict had already sent messages that the mass should be performed in Latin again as opposed native languages. Jeff says that’s to put the mystery and fantasy back in the mass. That may work for some really old people but in most schools and universities Latin has become a forgotten language and is not even offered any more. Well time will tell what kind of Pope he’ll be but at 76 I don’t think there’s a lot of time left. Feel free to respond in the comment section at the end of this post in the mean time CIAO.

I’m back I forgot one of the most exciting radio broadcasts of all time Orson Wells War of the Worlds about Martians landing in a little town in New Jersey it was down as a Halloween show and apparently if you missed the first few seconds of the broadcast you didn’t hear the disclaimer that it wasn’t real and it caused a lot of panic. It shows you the influence of Radio had in its day now it’s all about Facebook and Twitter especially has caused rumors to fly around the world at a record pace. I guess you could say Twitter is the radio of today but it’s not for me and Jeff nobody wants to know that I’m going to poop or Jeff is going to take a shower (not a pretty picture). Well I just wanted to remind you of that story CIAO.

I thought today we’d talk a little about Radio old time radio that is. I know I made reference to radio programs that went on to TV such as Guns smoke and others looking back it would appear that all really popular shows were brought to TV I guess they wanted to use the familiarity of the shows to help promote the new medium. But one show never made it to TV it that was THE SHADOW Jeff has CD’s and cassette tapes of a lot of the old programs and before we moved down here he had a large collection of comics about the Shadow. Jeff could never figure out how a show that was that popular on radio was never brought to TV and he’s never found a reason. I mean the Green Hornet made it Highway Patrol and Dragnet amongst others all made it. I guess no one wanted to watch a show with the catch phrase “WHAT EVIL LURKS IN THE HEART AND MINDS OF MEN THE SHADOW KNOWS”. Jeff says all the kids back then couldn’t wait to hear that on the radio, he thinks since they have brought Sherlock Holmes into the twenty first century in the show Elementary and it seems to being doing well that maybe some producer somewhere will get the bright idea to put the Shadow on TV. But it has to be different than the movie which in Jeff’s words sucked the big one. You know TV makes people forget what it is to use your imagination t fill in the blanks plus you know who the bad guys are at the start of the show so you really don’t have to think much. I guess what I’m trying to say is that TV is dumbing down the human race especially in what is referred to as developed nations. Anyhow write the Networks and let’s get the Shadow on TV CIAO.

You know what’s missing from today’s world good TV: Something just didn’t get better as time went on and TV is one of them because it was live and like radio you had to use your Imagination at times and it made you laugh. A lot of the shows were just the visual interpretations of the radio programs such as Highway Patrol, Dragnet, The Lone Ranger, and Gun smoke to name a few and the then you had the stars who were able to bring their personality to the little screen Jack Benny, Ernie Kovacs, Grocho Marks, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. All these people were already stars but TV helped make them more real. For the kids you had Captain Video, Winky Dink, Howdy Doodey and Buffalo Bob Smith and many more on Saturday morning. Jeff remembers all of these shows well he had Favorites Ernie Kovacs was one Have Gun Will Travel was another and let’s  not forget the reason High school kids ran home after school Dark Shadows.
