Every Sunday I sit at this computer and say I can finally get away from writing about Trump and something appears in the news to change that. This week they started the public hearings about Jan. 6. All it did was bring back memories of the OJ Simpson trial. You remember. What I remember most about that was his Lawyer Johnny Cockrin saying in an interview that is wasn’t rich he would have been convicted in weeks. I took this to mean that the average person doesn’t stand a chance of getting real justice because real justice is expensive or to put it more simply MONEY TALKS BULLSHIT WALKS. People want to compare this to Watergate, this is much worse. Donald Trump deserves to be in jail not just for what he did on Jan 6 but for his business dealings as well. He has made politics not about a government for the people an by the people but rather white vs color and male dominance vs famine rights. If by chance he does get near indictment he’ll probably run to Russia, North Korea, or some other home for despots. He showed the world our bad side. Russia, for years, has waited, as did we with them, for us to tear ourselves apart, it would appear that the wait might be over. They have rared him as the worse President ever, yet there’s a better than 50-50 chance he could be elected in 2024. I guess with these hearings going on I’ll be stuck writing about politics for the summer. Maybe we’ll get lucky and Americans will wake up and end this mess, but I won’t hold my breath. If you’ve read any of my stuff on gun control you know I have a couple of problems with what’s out there. I really don’t want to ban guns but I do need a reason why people need 15, 20, 50, or more capacity magazines. I was a member of a rifle team in high school and an expert in the National Guard. We didn’t have all the automatic weapons available now, we actually had to see what we were shooting at. I’ve always thought that the Marine Sniper motto One shot One kill worked pretty well if you were a hunter. I don’t own guns anymore because quite frankly going out to shoot with a guy who has a 25-round mag in his rifle scares the shit out of me. They limit the number of rounds you can have in a shotgun in New Jersey and no one complains, but if you say you can’t have 30 rounds in your rifle people get crazy. When I ask why they need that many bullets to go hunting or target shooting they don’t have any kind of answer that makes sense. There is at least one legal gun for every person living in the US. Now tell me this has nothing to do with the increase in mass shootings. We have one of these at least once a week. Are street gangs to blame for all the gun violence? Sometimes, it has become increasingly more about people with extreme views and unstable minds. Who do we blame for this? It’s all of us. We can’t sit back and expect our politicians or law enforcement people to do it all. First of all, politicians are only interested in staying in office with their cushy little jobs. The police are not just overwhelmed but we have restricted them as to what they can, and can’t do. Those restrictions are needed so are new laws with greater penalties. People are going to have to choose what’s more important their 2^nd amendment rights or the lives of their kids. Well, they’re voting for President of Colombia today, they’ll have a runoff in two weeks. It’s the usual run of corrupt dick heads plus one outstanding ass hole. Gustav Petro, he is a card-carrying communist and has been for years. That’s not what bothers me. He was removed from office and reinstated twice for corruption as mayor of Bogota. You would think people would make a big stink about that, but not here. He has some ideas for the economy and depending on who you listen to or read they will either be great for the country or turn it into another Venezuela. He wants to immediately stop oil exports and when your economy is 70% oil-based doesn’t sound like a great idea. Like many other politicians, he has an idea that is not bad on the surface, but when you don’t know how to replace that income, you end up screwed. On the other side of things, it appears most of the views on this blog came from China last week. We know what the means guys they want to Hack me. Now I’ve really made it when china wants to hack my blog. God, they do that and I’ll have a billion Chines pissed off at me. Well, this has been a busy day I went to church for the second time in twelve years. I only go for funerals and Christenings, today was a Christening. It was for ruby’s great-niece. Everything went smoothly except it was sweltering. The party after was at our complex and remnants are sitting in our living room at this moment. That means we got stuck with the drunks. We had a hell of a thunderstorm come through. It seems we’re getting a lot of big violent storms this season. It was good to see some people because I hadn’t seen them in two years because of the Pandemic.

I read about this retired US general who was smiling when he heard that Putin was making critical decisions in the war. I think he remembers Hitler took control of the war at the end and that had a lot to do with Germany losing. It’s sort of like when someone defends themselves in a court of law and it’s said they have a fool for a lawyer. Don’t worry Putin will blame someone else for the loss he studied at the Trump school of politics. I think I’m going to stop here it’s getting a little loud out in the living room and it is Sunday, so this is the ANCIENT ONE and ANTONIA saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.

You know the hardest thing for a blogger like me is to come up with a topic that you guys are interested in. I’m not an expert in any field so that increases the difficulty and even though I say these are just my memories or thoughts a topic is hard to come by. I also get tired of writing political stuff because it seems to be negative and scary. You know I was a hippie and I like to think that I’ve managed to keep some of those values in my life. I mean other than those pertaining to drugs and free sex. One of those values was that his religion shouldn’t run our lives. When I say this I mean we should be able to make up our own minds about other people and just because your parents were this religion or that should have no bearing on us. My parents started me in Catholic school and back then the mass was in Latin and I didn’t get it. It became the Sunday magic show and when I watched kids go to confession in the afternoon and then go out that night and sin like crazy and go to communion on Sunday with nothing happening to them. That was pretty much it for me that and having a nun beat the shit out of me.

Now, I believe in a superior being and I know it’s not Donald Trump. I just don’t think that man interprets the various writings right. So to me, religion isn’t God talking to me it’s some asshole who thinks he knows what God was saying 30 or 40 thousand years ago. Man missing Sundays are becoming a thing hopefully I won’t be missing anymore for a while. Well, we have a war in Ukraine that will only result in innocent people starving and being tortured. We have democracy being threatened by politicians that might or might not be able to spell it. War is never a good thing especially when it would appear that when it ends nothing will have dramatically changed. People, who are a lot more informed than I am are trying to figure out what Putin’s purpose is in all this. I have no idea other than he’s trying to pull a Trump and create a distraction for something else.

As for the treats to Democracy, there you can see the purpose. They want to create a combination of an Orwellian society with Hand Maiden rules. Those are two fictional stories one being an old book the other being both a book and TV series. The Hand Made Tale shows what the Republicans would like to see happen to Human rights especially women’s rights. Orwell on the other hand shows a Trump-like desire for an Authoritarian form of Government. It is my belief that if things keep heading in these directions Civil disobedience and the real possibility of violence are real and on the horizon. Now for this week. I have told you I’m 76 years old and the point of this is not to make excuses for any mistakes I make but rather how much history I’ve seen. I’ve seen wars, race riots, and amazing accomplishments in all fields of endeavor, but it would seem all was for naught. The politicians of today are more interested in creating a world similar to Orwell’s 1984 than they are in preserving the Constitution so many have given their lives. They want to take away women’s rights and control who you vote for. I find the women’s rights thing to be ludicrous because if it wasn’t for women’s rights women like Marjorie Taylor Green and others would be barefoot and in the kitchen instead of standing on the Capital steps spouting their bullshit racist crap. We have been talking about the danger Trump poses to Democracy when it’s people like Governor DeSantis and Governor Abbot who are the real threat. If these two examples are left unchecked you won’t have a democracy for long. I’m going to try and do live videos on YouTube again and if it works out I’ll give you the regular day and time. Well in most parts of the world it’s Palm Sunday but don’t worry, I won’t be talking about religion. I’m about to repeat something I’ve been saying for years, Politicians suck. People believe that other people go into politics to help benefit their fellow man. Bullshit, they do it because they think they think they know what’s good for us. Not what we want or need, but what they think we would want if we were smart enough to know it. They also go into politics because they like the feeling of power. Congressmen and women and Senators never go around and pay for stuff. That is how they come out with so much money in the bank. Politicians are all about themselves most of the time. In today’s political world it would seem that the mentally disturbed are beginning to take over. It also seems that Democracy, you know that thing that millions of Americans have died for is no longer popular. You have an ex-President supporting a dictator and a congresswoman who wants to assassinate members of the opposing party. I never thought I’d say this but people you may have to actually fight for your rights. This is the ANCIENT ONE saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.

Well, those of you that actually read this post know Antonia was sick last weekend. She is now fine after the rest of us all got sick as well this week. We thank you all for your concern and good wishes. Now onto today,s post. You see the title have you ever thought and now you think what’s he talking about. Well, I was thinking how do all those people invent or discover the stuff that they do. Well, let’s look at Nuclear Submarines. The writer Jules Verne wrote about a submarine powered by the sun called the Nautilus and low and behold someone built a nuclear-powered sub and it was named the Nautilus. There are a lot more instances where a writer would come up with an idea that seemed preposterous at the time but later became reality. Most of us have dreamed a dream that we thought was impossible and had it, come true. I believe that anything we can dream is possible no matter how far fetched it might seem. Now that can either be a great and wonderful thing or the scariest thing I might have ever said. I hope a lot of the stuff I daydream about or even write about never happens but that’s not the way it goes. You know the old saying to be careful what you wish for well the same goes for your dreams. I have to wonder what demented thoughts and dreams are coming from some of our politicians. Hi, I’m sorry there was no post yesterday but Antonia was sick so I took the day to take care of her. My friend apparently ate something that didn’t agree with her while we were out. She came down with a case of diarrhea, so I and my wife were up all night. She seems to only get his when it rains very hard. She would go to my wife and wake her first then my wife would yell for me to get up. This is strange as my wife pretty much ignores her most of the time. My mom’s dog Charlie would do the same thing ignore me and I would ignore him till he got sick then he would come to me for help. I wonder is this a normal thing or is this just something my animals do. Well, anyway Antonia kept us up having poop every two hours or so sometimes she didn’t make it to the door or out of the hallway. Which left us cleaning up after her. I felt really bad for her and wanted to take her to the doctor but Ruby went and got Pepto and it worked. Antonia is either 10 or 12 years old we’re not sure. I adopted her a couple of years ago and they said that she was around 6. When I took her for a check-up they said she was probably 8 or older. I don’t care she’s a sweetheart and although I bitch and moan about getting up in the middle of a rainy night, there is nothing I wouldn’t do for her. I’ll get back to more normal posts this weekend.
