On Monday I wrote a post about how Colombia reacted to their team losing in the world and how they honored that team. Well yesterday Brazil got destroyed by Germany in a semi final match 7-1 and Brazilians reacted with shame and violence. Not only that’ it looked like the rest of South America couldn’t be happier that Brazil got whooped. Jeff was happy only because he had Germany as a finalist in his bracket. It was a sad thing to see yesterday when a team is out of contention 10 minutes into a game that’s an hour and a half long but that was the case yesterday. Jeff tried to warn people about laughing so hard at Brazil but to no avail. There is such as a thing as Karma in this world and some people better be careful. I just don’t understand you humans you win you go out and destroy stuff you lose you go out and destroy stuff doesn’t look like you can enjoy being happy. Well it wasn’t the best two days of Jeff’s life but he’s here despite have a colonoscopy without being sedated. Yup that’s right he was awake for the whole thing and I’ve had to listen to him complain about it for two days now. Enough is enough time to move on and speaking of moving on the World cup started yesterday in Brazil amidst controversy. Brazil played Croatia in the first game and one but started a shit storm of complaints about the referee from the losers and I think they’re right. They also had the opening ceremony yesterday and most people are still going around asking what the hell that was about. I don’t how much people had to pay for that but I’m surprised there wasn’t a riot when it was over. The protests were outside the stadiums and the police fought hard to keep them away. If you’ve never checked out Brazil you should it a beautiful country a corrupt country but beautiful. It has some of the largest and most dangerous slums in the world and the way Brazil handled this was to send in troops and bulldozers so the tourist’s wouldn’t see. Colombia TV channels sent there top news people to Brazil for the games but instead of reporting on what was going on behind the scene they did a lot of puff stories. Not only that, but Colombia is in the middle of an election that will have a lasting effect on the country and there more interested in games. Now I know why the countries down here are so corrupt there is no interest in government so long as they leave the people alone. OH oh Jeff just woke up and I can hear him staring to complain already so I’ll say this is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin Colombia.
WORLD CUP AND THE POOR

The world cup is coming in May and those of you in America are probably going whites the big deal but to the rest of the world it’s the biggest sporting event in the world. The host country is Brazil and it looks like they may be actually ready. There is a lot of corruption in Latin American politics and Brazil I right near the top. If you look at the two pictures I posted on the right is what they hope you see and remember. The left on represents what they hope you don’t see. First the slums are not safe second there not safe. The country has been sending in troops to the larger ones trying to clean them out and if that doesn’t work they have accidental fires that burn half of it to the ground. As beautiful as the country is and as successful as it economy might be it has one of the largest population s of poor in the world. Many had hoped the world cup would help improve thing but the Elite that run this country don’t give a shit about the poor they just wish they would go away. So when if you watch the spectacle of the World Cup try to remember all the poor people who won’t have the opportunity to see it even though some of them helped build the stadiums. This is Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin another city that turn a blind eye to the plight of it’s poor.
