I tend to have some far-out theories at times and this might be one. What if the Wagner-Putin riff is nothing more than a well-orchestrated diversion to get the Ukrainians to commit their troops to their offensive before they really wanted to. It could have been a play for the Wagner group to get more money and arms, after all, they are mercenaries aren’t they? I still haven’t figured out what Putin wants the Ukraine for. I guess they must have pissed him off or he was having trouble with his military and thought they could get a quick win. It’s hard now to know what’s actually going on over there with all the fake news being generated by AI. I know a couple of people from over there who live in Colombia now and just laugh about the whole thing. American diplomats seem to think Putin is in trouble. Not to worry the Republicans will probably offer him political asylum and put him up in one of Trump’s properties and then get him his own show on FOX. My biggest worry at the moment besides Global warming is that some ass hole either outside the US or within the US will gain control of Nuclear weapons and blow the whole place they fuck up before we destroy ourselves. When I say what happened to us I mean when did we stop being a nation of equality for all and instead a nation of fascists and dictator wannabes? Not only that but we have a group of politicians that are, in my opinion completely unqualified to run for class President of a Kindergarten class. I would like to know how some of these people graduated from the schools they said they did. I think their mommies and dads must of bribed a whole school to say they went and filled out attendance forms while their children attended Nazi indoctrination camps. I have watched these people ban books just because someone didn’t like it. I think it was more because they couldn’t understand it. This morning, an article on Mastodon showed a demographic of which states led in Divorce, teen pregnancy, obesity, and murder. Well, you get the picture and that’s just the tip of the iceberg when you look at what states they’re talking about. It’s the Bible Belt folks. Somehow the definition of Christian has been distorted to the point that the Bible is a comic book interpreted by anyone who calls him or herself a Christian. Well, at least let me say before I go HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL MY FRIENDS that are DADS have a great day and moms do something special for the old man. Actually, three things have been added this week. First, my blog will now appear on Mastodon and not on Twitter. I will be closing my Twitter account soon. Second, the orange-haired one has been indicted by the Feds, which I assume will cause all kinds of chaos. He will undoubtedly plead innocent and blame the government for harassing him or blame someone else. He is also facing possible indictments in Georgia and DC. I don’t think too much will happen about these except for the violence that his sick followers will start. Once again I find it unimaginable that we have fascists able to hold and run for our highest political offices. We have people like Marjorie Taylor Green who like the orange-haired one are Narcissists who will make up and say just about anything for attention. I think that the MAGA’S will do just about anything let me change that they will do anything to maintain whatever power they do hold. Now, the third thing is I have Vertigo I suffered an attack that laid me up for 4 days. It was like nothing I had ever felt before. I was sure I was having a heart attack and was about to die, that is until the emergency doctor told me what it was. I have since found that I have had symptoms for years but thought they were other things. I don’t know how worried I have to be about it recurring while I’m walking the dog or some other activity that keeps me outside where I‘m usually by myself. While Lucy is very sympathetic she is too small to be of any real help. Well that’s it for now this has been FATS and LUCY saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.

What’s it going to take to save us? I haven’t got a clue. I do think it won’t be any of the people running for office now, it might not even be somebody from our country. The big powers are so consumed by having control of everything that I don’t think they’re capable of solving any of our problems or there’s for that matter. The problem is I don’t think we can tell the difference between a savior and a tyrant. The two front runners are old and I don’t think they’ll last four years. They are last what we call lame duck presidents. So, what are we to do? I think we have to pray that somewhere out there is a great man who has at least some of the answers, the problem is there may not be one. The word complacency is the governing factor in the world right now. We may have people screaming make America great again, or it’s time for a change but in reality those people like the way it is. Like I said at the beginning I don’t have a clue. I realize the bad that is coming at my age won’t ruin my life since it is almost over. But my grandkids and yours will be the recipients of any bad mistakes we make now. The thing is what we do in this country today will have an effect on not only our future generations but the rest of the world as well. I think it’s time for our leaders to actually lead and not just for their own benefit but for the benefit of all mankind. This has been FATS and LUCY saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia.

Lucy has officially started now. We have found out that she is a German Pincher. She loves the family and has completely adapted to living with us.

Now let’s talk about some politics. I have found something strange in Florida it seems that books about Roberto Clemente and Jackie Robertson have been banned but not Mien Kamph, which is all about the rise of Adolph Hitler and Nazi Germany. It would seem if DeSantis or some other person doesn’t like a book for whatever reason they just get it banned. We have politicians on both sides who don’t care what the people want but think they are so bright that they can tell us what we want. If you aren’t rich and can help them in some way they will never listen to you. This is a dangerous way for our country to be this kind of separation has led to revolutions in other countries such as France and Russia. Having somebody tell me this book or this movie or this man is dangerous for me is Censorship and tends to piss me off as well as others. Since Desantis wants the country to look like a real-life version of the Hand Maid Tales I can understand how he doesn’t want anybody to read the book. Well, it’s my wife’s birthday today so we will say this is LUCY and FATS saying CIAO from Medellin Colombia.

As I said on Sunday Antonia has passed away. We now introduce LUCY who has decided to help write my blog on Sundays. I hope you all like her as much as I do. I know ANTONIA is happy that we found her and rescued her. We’ll be looking forward to seeing you all this Sunday.

Hi, for those of you that have read my blog or are just now stopping I started this when I first came to Colombia 14 years ago. I called it floundersgreatadventure.com because it was about my cat Flounder and our travels around Colombia. Four years ago Flounder passed away, he was twenty years old. My Labradoodle dog Antonia was already here. This past Thursday Antonia died suddenly. The doctor said it looked like poison. She might have eaten something or been bitten by something. Antonia had spent Mother’s Day with our family she played with the Grand Kids and was happy as could be. Monday morning she seemed fine. We went for our normal walk and when we returned she wouldn’t eat or drink. Finally, in the night she ate. Tuesday she would only eat a cookie and didn’t want to get up. Wednesday she couldn’t move and started to lose control of her bladder. The doctor arrived in the afternoon and said he had to take her to the hospital. She died while we were on our way to see her on Thursday morning. I need a pet to make me exercise and get out of the house. So, although this might seem harsh yesterday I adopted a mutt and named her Lucy. She’s three years old and as far as I can see had never seen trees or grass until this morning. She has many of the traits of Antonia and if I didn’t know better I say Antonia was coaching her. I’m going to put her picture up here soon and will try to write more about her as she grows. My mom has been gone for 25 years and I still miss her. 1998 Google got started Viagra got approved by the FDA, Apple unveiled the I MAC and Bill Clinton was president. The country and the world were a different place. My mom was 84 when she died and had seen a lot. She buried two husbands and a son. I think she felt she had done and given enough. A coup;e of years before she had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. I regret not spending more time with her but I thought she would live forever. I didn’t realize how many people loved and respected her until she passed. When I miss her now and start thinking about her I think she would recognize this place anymore. She would sit and wonder how a man like Donald Trump could be President. She would have loved Obama and adored his wife. She would be quite upset and worried about what we would be leaving her grandchildren with. She would wonder how all the things she saw us go to war about or march in the streets to change would have people trying to revive. She would wonder how there would be so many guns. She would remember that I owned many guns at one time. She never had to read about kids killing kids in schools not in a war zone but in what she would have thought was one of the safest places for our kids. My mom was a very smart person but as she aged all she wanted to be was happy and she deserved that. I’m glad she isn’t here to see how bad we have screwed everything up, but she would still look for the good. Maybe she can pull some strings up there and get things straightened out around here. Those of you whose mom is still around don’t wait till Mother’s Day to tell her how much you love her do it every day. That means guys and gals. If you don’t you’ll end up with regrets and sitting around trying to write a blog that she might like. I know my mom would probably like it, but would point out my grammatical mistakes as well as spelling errors. I don’t think I ever did anything that my Mom didn’t support she would worry in silence. Here’s the problem with artificial intelligence. It’s like a great quarterback who read defenses and make quick adjustments during the play. Now, if the coach who is calling the defense has access to AI he’ll be able to react faster. In other words, he will be able to outthink the QB. So if AI is faster at learning than a human how long do you think it will take it to realize it doesn’t need us? When it does it will happen so fast we won’t be able to stop it and remember computers don’t have feelings they think in pure logic or black and white. Some of our greatest scientists have said that the biggest threat to this plane is humans and that right now the greatest threat to humans is AI. The biggest problem is we think we can control AI. Once you let that out of the box there will be no putting it back. Look at how much has been done already. Fake news, and fake reporters, mind-reading apps, and the list goes on. The big difference between a movie and real life is that humans can’t win. We care who lives and dies, we care about our families. We don’t want to die. AI on the other hand has none of this. Another thing to worry about is the greed and selfishness of our governments. They will think that they can control or destroy AI after they use it to conquer the world. They won’t see the end coming any faster than the rest of us. Sounds like a bad Science fiction movie plot doesn’t it. Unfortunately, it’s not. So yesterday I get an email from WordPress saying that Twitter will no longer allow Jetpack to auto-load my blog to Twitter. Now you know why Twitter is headed for extinction. You can’t just say we’re not doing this anymore but if your willing to pay ridiculous fees we might consider it. Elon Musk had to make his money by stealing it because he has no idea how to run a business. His electric cars have battery problems his rockets are the most expensive thing on the planet. I being a poor soul am convinced that being truly honest will keep me poor. Look Trump the man lies with every breath yet he never pays for anything. How do I look my Grandkids in the eye and say to them the way to be successful is, to be honest. Trump lied his way to the presidency and might do it again, even Biden lies. Religious leaders lie, and teachers lie. It’s gotten harder to know what the truth is. Now you have to fact-check everything that comes out of someone’s mouth if you want the truth. Now you’re saying am I telling the truth. Well, most of what I say here is my opinion which is what I believe.
