KNEELING IS NOT DISRESPECTFUL

August 12, 2018

In line with this being the beginning of the football season I thought we talk about the entrance of politics into the sport. As you most know the Trumpster has enter into the dispute about players kneeling during the National Anthem. Well let take a look at this. First there is no federal law saying you have to stand for it and for that matter there is no federal law that says it has to be played before a sporting event. Now the only time in all my years that I saw the kind of respect that it deserved was after 9/11, and that only lasted about one season. Then it was back to checking out the girls drinking beer and taking photos and as for the players on the field they were looking around smiling and generally looking disinterested. Now I live in Colombia and when there National Anthem is played you still have a lot of laughing and moving around in the stands but they sing their anthem and the players sing as well. i’m willing to bet that only 1% of the attending fans and even lees of the players could sit down and write out the words to our Anthem, I know I can’t. So when a player takes a knee during the Anthem and remains quite and respectful I don’t see this as a sign of disrespect. Just like during those Olympics when the relay team held up their hands in a Black Power salute my first thought was not of disrespect towards our country. As for the Trumpster being so upset its a well known fact that he carries a grudge and he has one for the NFL after they wouldn’t let him in their little club because he owned a casino. So I think it would be a good idea for people to take a look around the stadium and see haoww many people are disrespecting the Anthem and the Flag by drinking talking and just plain being assholes. Oh by the way shaking that big flag at mid field and letting it touch the ground are against the law. This is Fats and Flounder saying CIAO from Medellin, Colombia. Oh by the way we’re alsos available on TUMBLR
