It took me awhile to figure out what to write about today since things are so quiet down here. I choose gay marriage because it seems to cause a lot of conversation. In Jeff’s family some support some like Ruby don’t know why they want to get married and others think it’s a crime against God. Jeff has had gay friends since high school and supports gay marriage. He feels that if they love each enough to put up with all the grief and such well then they should get all the same benefits that the rest of us do. Throughout history people have used passages from the Bible or other religious writings to support bigoted behavior. Jeff thinks that it would be a good thing if people started to talk about the good stuff in these things rather than looking for word that they can interpret to support their views. Jeff doesn’t read any of them to any extent he not very fond of religions although he does believe there’s something bigger than us, but he does believe that people should be able to make their own decisions about how they want t live their lives so long as it’s not harming anyone else. You know years ago if you lived with someone out of wedlock your lifestyle would be considered sinning against God, sound familiar. In conclusion Jeff and I agree that we should just let these people alone let them live a loving life and not try to make them believe what we do or not.
