Colombia played Peru in World Cup qualifying yesterday and won 2-0. They pretty much have secured a place in the world cup next year in Brazil. Speaking of Brazil once one of the most feared teams in the world, if they weren’t hosting the World Cup they wouldn’t have a team in it. They are currently ranked 22, the lowest in something like 40 years and wouldn’t have qualified. Argentina, which tied with Colombia on Friday, is in first only three points ahead of Colombia. Colombian league play resumes this weekend and the Cup qualifiers will begin again in two months. In related soccer news Lionel Messi, considered to be the best player in the world, and his father have been charged with tax fraud in Spain. I don’t have all the information yet but it will be an interesting story to follow. This is Flounder saying Ciao from Medellin
