Just a word or two

Well Jeff just read on Yahoo that the retired national police chief of Colombia, considered to be one of the best for his handling of the drug cartels, is in Mexico and thinking about being an advisor to this Presidential candidate if he gets elected. Well that’s something I would do because in Mexico the drug gangs are much more powerful then the Colombian cartel were when he took over and their much more violent. Beside in Colombia he made deals with paramilitary groups that were fighting the drug dealers, of course after Escobar was killed they were told they weren’t needed any more so some went to fight for the Farc and others started protecting the drug dealers. He did manage to stop the forming of large cartels and keep the drug traffickers in smaller more manageable gangs but there still sending cocaine to America. I thought that most of the candidates in Mexico were going to push for legalization of drugs as a solution to the violence. That sounds good except that the country that the drugs are going to (America) isn’t about to legalize them so there would still be smuggling and the violence would continue, not only that the US would stop giving them money to fight drugs probably remove the Favorite nation status and seal the border with a Berlin type wall. There is really no easy or guaranteed solution for the rug problem in the world you may stop it on place but it will jump someplace else or their will be a new drug to take the place of the old ones. Some of the smartest people in the world have tried to come with solutions to this problem but it remains and will continue to do so in one form or another as long as people exist. If you think you have an idea how to stop this put it in a comment for this post and we’ll discuss it next time Ciao.
