The lack of integrity in sports is not a new thought. Everybody who has lost a bet on sports thinks it was fixed. Well, now they might be right. Way back when I remember all the sports commissioners saying they would never play in Vegas, Basketball, Football, and just about every other major or minor sport is either building or already playing in Vegas. I will stick with football and basketball because I know the most about them. Basketball has had a couple of scandals, especially at the college level. Mostly involving point shaving. Point shaving can affect the game’s winner and the over under bet. This year in Pro football the officiating has been questionable, to say the least. Now, you have internet books sponsoring pro teams using athletes to promote betting online. Willie Mays was banned for a while because he went to work for a Casino after his playing days were through. Mark Cuban is selling his majority stake in the Dallas Mavericks to a Casino family. The Mafia has gone from beating and shooting to straight-up paying the athletes. Pretty soon all pro sports are going to look like wrestling and yes you can bet on pro wrestling. None of this surprises me it just disappoints me. But when you look at how politicians go around breaking the law without consequences we shouldn’t be surprised by the lack of integrity in sports.
