My Neighbor is a drunk

July 22, 2012

This post is late because the guy across the court yard, who happens to be a doctor that Jeff saw in his office on Thursday, came home at 4AM turned the music up all the way broke the sliding glass door to the balcony and scared the crap out of his pregnant wife. In answer to the next question yes he was drunk as you can get and belligerent. The manager of the building happened to live right above him and when he couldn’t get him to quiet down he was forced to call the police, it took eight of them to get him to shut up he kept screaming it was his house and he’d do whatever he wanted to. So bottom line no got any sleep last night, and then this morning around 9am he goes and turns the music back up. That brought the local commandant of the police down as well as the owner of the apartment again he starts shouting, this guy is definitely not to bright for a doctor, and I can guarantee that Jeff will never go back to this doctor again. The guys wife had to clean up his mess and she tried to talk to the police and Jeff could see how scared she is of this ass hole and having some experience with drunks he felt really sorry for her, and that’s why we’re late posting today. Jeff and John are so glad that they’ll be out of here in a couple of weeks all they can do is hope that this guy behaves himself until then (I wouldn’t bet on it). Well like I said we didn’t get much sleep last night so we’re going to take a nap before dinner CIAO.

Photos

July 21, 2012

Saturday afternoon sorry for the late post but we had a hundred and sixty something pictures to look at, you’ll have to go to Facebook to see them all I just don’t have the room on the blog for all of them. You should know that the one showing soldiers these guys are just kids they have a type of draft down here. When you turn 18 you have to go into the army for one year, the  only way out is to be in college, an only child or bribe your way out. The fact that these kids only go for one year makes having an efficient army to fight the Farc a little different if you look at the kids wearing the camouflage suits (called Gilley suits in the US) these kids are snipers and there spotters and security teams the weapons they use are the Barrett and the M14 sniper version, it takes a good four months after basic to train someone to do that so if take say 8 weeks for basic and 16 weeks for advanced training that’s six month give or take. This means just as your done training these people they’re going to go home and there’s nothing you can do about it, like America it takes a special kind of person to stay in the army knowing he’s more than likely going to get shot at sooner or later. But back to the pictures some are of Independence day celebrations and others are of some tourist stuff they did. Listen it’s really getting hot down here and we don’t have a/c (either does anybody else) so I think it’s time for me to head to the cool confines of the closet CIAO>

Friday is here

July 20, 2012

It’s really early Friday morning and Jeff and Ruby are headed to the country with Hader and Nelida so this is another short and sweet post. I will tell you this they got a new Apartment in the mountains I’ll tell you more later CIAO.

THE DAY AFTER

July 19, 2012

The day after Hari’s birthday party the cleanup is pretty much done and Hari had a great time he woke up today at 5AM he couldn’t sleep because he was still so excited about  all his presents and the cake and ice cream. He got a lot of clothes which is good because he has tons of toys and really only plays with one or two. His biggest present was from Jeff, John, Vanessa, and Ruby it was a big powered ride able Thomas the Engine (Picture below) and although he loves Thomas this one scared him and refused to go near for most of the night until Margarita got him to at least touch it and push it. As of right now he’s still not riding it we’ll just have to wait and see. There were more kids there than I expected but it was Ok Jeff helped me get to my hiding place in the closet and I was safe. Speaking of Jeff I’m a little upset with him he went cheap on me and changed my food and I ain’t eating it were at a little impasse in our relationship, we’ll see who can last the longest. OK I’m going to put some pictures up the rest are on Facebook but I know a few people still don’t use it and I’ll be back tomorrow CIAO.

It’s Hari’s birthday HAPPY BIRTHDAY- FELIX COMPLEANOS to Ruby and Jeff’s Grandson. This is just a short post because we have to get everything ready for later today tomorrow we’ll have photos and tell you how the day went and how excited Hari is with all his presents. Till then I’ve got to try and rest up CIAO>

THOMAS IS HIS FAVORITE

Just another day

July 17, 2012

Oh well another day another post; At least this one won’t have to be too long, I think they finally finished installing the security system know let’s hope it works. If this job had been done in America the company would have gone bankrupt with all the overtime these guys ran up, but down here on a job like this there is no such thing. Big doings tomorrow it’s Hari’s Second Birthday I probably won’t have to much to say when I post in the morning the festivities won’t start until the afternoon when everybody is home from work. He’s going to have a great day and there should be a lot of pictures to post. I hope the weather improves a little it’s a little cloudy and pretty warm right now. Good news Jeff’s book is almost done and in the print format right now it’s 228 pages, didn’t know he had it in him. He says he already thinking of a second book this one will not be for family reading, as I get more details I’ll let you guys know. I just realized I haven’t had breakfast so CIAO.

not me

Monday morning

July 16, 2012

Monday is the worst day of the week we always hear that , but for Jeff it’s just another day. Yesterday Jeff and Ruby went to El Jefe’s house for lunch and Elda cooked special for Jeff and did a fantastic job. Nelida was there hung over from the night before, Mauricio was there still drunk from the night before (I worry about that boy), Camilo was there tired as usual, Olga was there but no nacho he chose to be angry because Camilo stayed with his aunt Saturday night instead for coming home, Nacho’s nuts but that’s him, everybody that was there had a great day so it’s his loss. You know it’s not easy trying to write this everyday and tell you all what’s going on without saying something that will piss off somebody. Every day we wake up and say what should we talk about today? It’s a hard job but I guess somebody’s got to do it, when I got to Colombia I thought I could take it easy in my old age but Jeff had other ideas. He says lets write a blog I said great and in the beginning it was fun and exciting ,because something new was happening every day, now it’s far and in between when something new happens. That’s not to say that its boring down here it just that unless we go some place new nothing really exciting happens and that’s really not a bad thing. That’s it I  got o more and you know what that means nap time CIAO.

Yes this does look like John

Oh my back

July 15, 2012

First happy Sunday to everyone now that that’s out of the way to business Jeff has a backache and the picture below shows right where it is, so you know what I’m butting up with today. At least he’ll be gone most of the afternoon he and Ruby are going to El Jefe’s house for lunch and a little relaxation. They spent last night at Mauricio’s bar plying Bingo in a charity event for his cousin I believe who is a really nice guy unfortunately confined to a wheel chair, but he handles it real well. They got home real late but that was ok I was sleeping the whole time and didn’t really know they were gone until they got home. I don’t expect them to be out to late today everybody has to work tomorrow and that usually gets everybody home early and to bed early. Jeff was looking over his blog to how long it really is and he came up with these figures 135 pages 67,507 words, I didn’t know he had that much Bull Shit in him. Look its Sunday morning down here and the sun is shining beautifully and I’m going to take full advantage of it and take a nap CIAO.

YUP THAT’S THE SPOT

Ok let’s start the weekend off with a little rant; I don’t know how many of you are familiar with Comic-con? The biggest and best known is taking place in San Diego California as we speak, but I don’t know if you can call it a Comic-Con any more sense it seems to be more about movies and TV shows than the original premise of the best and oldest comic books on display. Now don’t get me wrong their still there but you won’t see general news stories about a Spiderman comic selling for a million dollars like you did when the first Batman movie came out and the first Batman comic (Detective No 27) sold for 87,000 dollars about eighty grand more than previous. Today the book is probably worth close to a million, Jeff hasn’t checked in awhile, that was news back when it happened it made comic book collecting main stream even Nicholas Gage had a million dollar collection he joined  the Scientology Church and sold it. Jeff paid for most of his stuff to be shipped to Colombia by selling his comic books and related stuff, and yes he does regret it, it just seems they ought to come up with a new name for this convention. I know comics are now becoming passé, but they represent a sociological study of American history Jeff read a book about that when he was collecting. If we keep doing away with things that represent art and history in our lives we will be doomed as a society to make the same mistakes and to lose our ability to imagine the impossible and make it happen. With those words of wisdom I’m going to take a nap CIAO.

FRIDAY THE 13TH YIKES

July 13, 2012

Friday the 13th is everybody nervous, don’t walk under any ladders, and don’t let a black cat cross your path and all the other superstitious nonsense. Today is Jeff’s lucky day and mine too Jeff used to love to  take tests in school because everybody would get all upset about any test given on a Friday the 13th but it has never bothered Jeff, that is not to say he isn’t superstitious about some things. I’m not going to tell you what they are because they’re very minor and are of a positive nature. He does however believe we cats see things humans don’t and he has seen many unexplained events in his life time some go along with his belief in UFOs others his belief that there are spirits running around playing pranks on humans. He doesn’t believe they’re evil just lost and trying to entertain themselves at our expense. He is correct in his assumption that cats see stuff humans don’t, if you don’t believe just watch a black cat when there’s a full moon, especially on Halloween, then you to will believe. One of Jeff’s friends Sheila has a birthday today she’s turning 50 according to Facebook. Sheila has a tuff time the last few years but Jeff is convinced that because her birthday falls on a Friday the 13theverything is about to turn around for her and things should get much better in the months to come. I hope he’s right she’s a really nice person and deserves a real break. I’m going to end this post with warm wishes for Sheila’s birthday and good luck for all CIAO.

DON’T BE AFRAID
