Saturday afternoon sorry for the late post but we had a hundred and sixty something pictures to look at, you’ll have to go to Facebook to see them all I just don’t have the room on the blog for all of them. You should know that the one showing soldiers these guys are just kids they have a type of draft down here. When you turn 18 you have to go into the army for one year, the  only way out is to be in college, an only child or bribe your way out. The fact that these kids only go for one year makes having an efficient army to fight the Farc a little different if you look at the kids wearing the camouflage suits (called Gilley suits in the US) these kids are snipers and there spotters and security teams the weapons they use are the Barrett and the M14 sniper version, it takes a good four months after basic to train someone to do that so if take say 8 weeks for basic and 16 weeks for advanced training that’s six month give or take. This means just as your done training these people they’re going to go home and there’s nothing you can do about it, like America it takes a special kind of person to stay in the army knowing he’s more than likely going to get shot at sooner or later. But back to the pictures some are of Independence day celebrations and others are of some tourist stuff they did. Listen it’s really getting hot down here and we don’t have a/c (either does anybody else) so I think it’s time for me to head to the cool confines of the closet CIAO>
