Voodoo
March 21, 2012
They postponed Camilo’s case until tomorrow and as you can guess everybody is a little on edge as to why Jeff thinks that if it wasn’t because the lawyer had to someplace else it might be a good sign. He thinks they probably are going to make deal and maybe Camilo can be home by the weekend. Jeff says he’s not going to talk about negative things it could mean and only concentrate on the good stuff. In other news Hari got a little burn on his finger last night from some incense and you’d of thought that someone was trying to kill him. I got to tell you that kid has some set of lungs. There are probably people off the coast of Africa that thought Tarzan had returned, but he’s OK nothing really to it. He came over today and was his normal cheerful self around me and Jeff .Hader’s back to work at his regular job so things are pretty good around here for everybody except John, his Futbol team sucks and he’s upset everybody Jeff talks to seem to think if they change the coach everything will get better we’ll see. Ruby has a cold and she seems OK during the day but is really miserable at night Jeff fells bad for her but it’s a cold and there’s nothing that can rally be done. When Jeff was in the Army if you went on sick call with a cold they would tell you to wait until you got pneumonia because they could cure that. Jeff has DR John music playing while we’re at the computer and it’s sort of like having Voodoo ceremonies going on around you so I’m headed to under the bed Ciao.
I have no idea what to put here
March 20, 2012
Another cloudy day in Bello Jeff went to a nutritionist this morning said they didn’t tell him anything he didn’t already know, but now Ruby believes him. Hari was here and was in a much better mood than on Sunday. Watching the news the government is still waiting for a prisoner release from the Farc, I don’t know how you can come back to the real world after spending 12 years in chains, being moved all the time and living in the jungle. But I guess they’ll be OK it will just take time I still think the Farc is just a front for drug enforces. I heard today that they think there’s a new cartel, what happened to the old ones? I don’t think sense cocaine is going north from here that they all just retired when Escobar was killed. Anyhow Yahoo rate Medellin as the 3rd best destination for retirement outside the US. It is pretty nice down here obviously the weather and cost of living make it truly desirable to Americans such as Jeff on fixed income retirement. Tomorrow Camilo is supposed to go to court and find out if and when he can leave the US and come down here his parents want him down here because they think they can keep him out of trouble Jeff has his doubts Jeff wants him so he can beat the crap out of him for being so stupid. Hey look at that my tail is moving by itself I guess I should chase it see you Ciao.
Birthday Colombian Style
March 19, 2012
Yesterday was Olga’s birthday and first Jeff went the church where Hader had a mass said in her honor then it was off to nacho and Olga’s house for lunch and cake. The lunch was a chicken, pork and rice dish that Ruby, Nelida, and Dolli, I think I spelled it right if not Ruby will yell at Jeff not me. Anyhow Jeff said it was delicious and wants Ruby to make it for dinner this week. Everybody was there all the aunts the sisters and their father EL JEFE a good time was had although Jeff didn’t understand some of the funny stories Hader and John were telling ad Ruby couldn’t translate because she was laughing to hard. Hari was there too but he wasn’t happy about it and cried the whole time. They waited for Camilo to call from the US but he couldn’t get a good connection and Nacho said he would probably call back around 1am needless to say nobody was hanging around until to talk to him so everybody went home Olga looked very pretty (you can see photos on Facebook) but you could tell she wished Camilo was there. Today is mans day in Colombia but it doesn’t look like Ruby is going to celebrate it she has Jeff helping with the cleaning and is still give him a hard time about everything. We’ll all be glad when the menopause goes away. It’s been raining sense last so sense it’s a great day to sleep I’ll talk to you guys later Ciao.
St Patrick’s Day
March 17, 2012
Ok so I forgot today was St Patrick’s Day it’s the day that the Irish celebrate Patrick driving all the snakes out of Ireland. In America its let see how drunk we can get day and how much of an idiot I can make of myself. I remember sitting in the window of our house in Parsippany watching some of these idiots come stumbling home and try to talk to me like I was going to talk to a drunk. This day people line up at the bars for corned beef and cabbage as well pints of Guinness Jeff’s friends who tended bar with him hated that day as all the customers were armatures who couldn’t drink and didn’t tip. There was one place where Jeff’s good friend Bill Engler use to work that claimed they cook a ton of corned beef. I don’t know if that’s true but I will tell you from what Jeff would tell me it’s entirely in the realm of possibility. This is the weirdest holiday I know off I mean I know New Years Eve and Super bowl Sunday are known for drinking but St Patrick’s Day is drink until you puke and I don’t see that as something you should celebrate but as you know I’m just a cat and right now I’m headed back under the bed for the rest of the day Ciao.
Saturday afternoon
March 17, 2012
It’s Saturday afternoon and Ruby is in the kitchen preparing a cake for Olga’s birthday tomorrow Jeff is sitting here with me after just watching an old classic war story Apocalypse Now. He still gets a little crazy during the scene when the helicopters of the first air cav. are approaching the delta and turn on the music which is Wagner’s Ride of the Valkeries I think he needs serious counseling but what do I know. You realize he’s was never in Viet Nam and he’s typing this while listening to Jimi Hendricks play, he’s really starting to worry me. I guess when people reach a certain age they start to regress back towards their childhood, hope he liked cats when he was a kid. Any how it was a great movie and pretty much shows you the horrors of war when put young people in a hostile environment far from home. Jeff also has a toothache which is maybe why he’s listening to Hendricks at ear piercing levels. He better feel good tomorrow he has to go to church in the morning and I don’t think they’ll let him listen to Hendricks during the mass. I probably wouldn’t mind the music if he had a little catnip to slip me. I’m going to go and hide for the rest of today he has John coming over for the soccer game tonight and I’m sure there will be others stopping over so Ciao.
Random news
March 16, 2012
Jeff and I were watching the news as we do every morning, while waiting for Hari to come over and play, and they were showing videos of the packed transit system in Bogota. Apparently there had been riots because the buses are so crowded. This scene of people packing into buses and train is repeated all over the world. The most obvious reason seems to be that the population is concentrated in one area and work in another area there is no quick answer for this. An increase in the amount of buses or trains will just make the population areas grow. In some countries including the US telecommuting is being tried by some companies to relieve the commuting stress of their employees of course this only works with those that have what are considered white color jobs. It also seems that when politicians and such get involved by the time they decide to do anything their ideas are obsolete and again this is a worldwide problem. The only real solution seems to be work at home for the white color workers and moving manufacturing out of metropolitan areas. So far in America they tend to only offer this to the higher level employees another possibility is staggered work days or the four day work week and then moving recreational and shopping areas away from the work and residential areas. This might work but the problem here is it would require the transplanting of a good part of the urban population and we all know that’s not going to happen. So far the biggest mass transit problems down here appear to be in Bogota, at least that’s what the news shows down here. As you can tell by what I’ve said so far there doesn’t seem to be a quick fix for any of these problems and as long as money and politicians are involved it will take even longer for there to be a solution. OK now tomorrow is Saturday and there’s a soccer game on TV so John will be at the house as will Hari so he and I will be spending some quality time on the bed watching Nick JR. Sunday we’ll be celebrating Ruby’s sister Olga 50th birthday so I don’t know if I’ll get a chance to post over the weekend so everybody have I great time Ciao.
People are crazy
March 15, 2012
Would someone please tell me what’s going on in the world there are people going around killing their kid’s co-workers family members driving unsafe vehicles full of kids? What’s a matter not enough people dying in stupid wars? Not enough people starving to death all over the world? Do you guys remember movie the Terminator or War Games the machines in these movies were built with logic to keep humans safe and the reason they tried to wipe us off the surface of the planet is because in a purely logical world we’re are own worst enemies and the biggest threat to the survival of this planet. If you don’t believe this just read the news everyday and look at the atrocities that we inflect upon ourselves and this planet. We find more and horrific ways to kill each other we strip the planet of its resources and wonder why it fights back. Man and the great white shark are the only two living things on this planet that kill for the sake of killing. We all know this we learn it school our scientist warn us of the consequences of our actions it is a basic law of physics “For every action there is an equal or greater reaction”. But instead of taking this information that’s available to everyone we choose to ignore it and the consequences doing so. Now this is some pretty deep shit coming from a cat and one that realizes no one is listening but that’s just how I roll Ciao.
Hump day
March 14, 2012
OK so now everybody thinks I’m crazy well maybe I am anyhow I was looking over Jeff’s shoulder the last couple of day and I was reading the financial news and it became apparent to me that they really don’t have a clue what they’re talking about. It’s sort of like looking at the medical news and how one week this is good for you and the next it isn’t it’s just who’s paying for the statistical study well in the financial world it’s what they want you to believe and I don’t believe it stops there. For instance how can you trust the news on TV when the various news stations are fighting for sponsors and do you think that Murdock was only corrupt in the UK? It’s unfortunate when you look around how much of what we think is fact is influenced by MONEY. I’ve read enough articles from various sources to know that the financial crisis shouldn’t have happened but there are a group of people out there that think the world is stupid, and you know what they are right. We let a few people tell us what to think and we got screwed because we trusted them. Read the political commentary pages of the internet or your newspaper then remember what you read and look in another source or wait a few weeks or months and you’ll see different a different slant. What changed? Absolutely nothing someone just decided that it was more profitable for them at that moment if we were told to believe something else or in the case of food such as eggs or wine the industry came up with more money to alter the study which had had a negative view. This phenomenon is not unique to America this kind of thing is done all over the world. I think the best investment anyone can make is in themselves that way there are less people to blame and actually unless you’re really dumb a better chance of success. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do research or listen to people but don’t take everything as an absolute. I know I’ve sort of wondered during this post but that’s the way we cats think I hope it makes some sense to people and gives them some help in deciphering what the so called 1% wants the rest of us to believe. Anyway that’s it for me today Ciao.
Random cat thoughts
March 13, 2012
Have you ever given thought to what would happen if we suddenly discovered we were really offspring of some ancient alien race? Now before you stop reading and say Ok here he goes off the deep end. I read an article that Jeff over looked that claims because of human dependency on smart technology we are becoming Cyborgs. Let explain my thoughts, but remember that I’m a cat and think differently than humans. First you do know that every living thing on this planet has electric current in its body no scientist to my knowledge has definitely given a reason for the source of this phenomenon. Could this be the reason that the higher life form (humans) has such an attraction to electronic devices and new technology? Now I have more than half the world thinking I’m a heretic, but all I’m doing is putting out there some facts and some added thought for people much smarter than me to think about. Just think it might be possible that our thoughts and memories are stored in some far away alien data base. Well try to remember I’m just a cat and maybe I’ve had a little too much catnip or just maybe I’m smarter than you think. Ciao.
Soccer and cats on Sunday
March 12, 2012
Today’s post concerns a soccer game play Sunday night in Colombia between Ruby’s son’s favorite teams. It was won by Medellin (Hader’s team) 2-1 over Johns team (Nacional). First you most understand that this year Medellin is considered a second tier team while Nacional went out and got a bunch of new players because there are playing other South American teams in other words they are in two different leagues. Hader didn’t even want to watch the game because he thought Nacional would destroy his team but like they say in America anyone can beat anyone on a given day. I don’t expect the results to be the same at the next game but I do expect tighter security sense there were few fights at this game. These games are called the Classic and are played home and home at the same stadium because both teams are from Medellin sort of the Mets and Yankees and Giants and Jets. Fans are fanatical about their teams and occasionally this translates into physical confrontations. Unfortunately because Direct TV bought the TV rights to most of the game we were unable to watch it, maybe next time. Also on Sunday Jeff, Ruby, Nacho, And Olga went to Medellin to see a cat show and they didn’t take me, I wasn’t happy but Jeff and Ruby came back and told me there wasn’t another cat there that could compare with me. They also found a store that carries nothing but cat stuff and they had the type of water fountain I used to have back in the US. I think that’s about it for today except to say IN YOUR FACE JOHN Ciao.
