A new celebrity is coming

February 20, 2012

Sunday was spent at Miriam’s house where the food is always great and this time was no exception and Jeff got to meet Marcela Miriam’s daughter. She turned out to be one of the most pleasant moments in Jeff stay in Colombia she spoke perfect English and happens to be extremely intelligent as well. In America as well as down here you might classify her as a rebel of sorts I don’t mean get gun and fight the government she’s more of a nonconformist, which Jeff considers himself as well. She’s not afraid to speak her mind and let you know if she thinks you’re wrong or if you’re right. Jeff strongly suggested she write a blog for down here so she can get all the great thoughts and ideas in her head out to other people for discussion and stimulate her mind even more. She feels a little insecure that people will take her opinions seriously because she a woman Jeff told all the more reason to express them so you can show that men aren’t the only ones who can think and have opinions. Jeff also thinks someday she’ll write a book she just has that way about her that says I have a story to tell and you’re really going to want to hear it. Also guys if you can stand an opinionated woman who happens to extremely pretty and will challenge your mind to keep up with her and your single this could be the girl for you. But don’t hurt her because besides her family you’ll have to deal with Jeff. Hey he goes out and finds bright pretty women and tell s everybody else about them what about me aren’t there any cool good looking female cats out there that want meet a suave intelligent good looking stud like me. Well now I feel slighted so I’m going to bed Ciao.

Hari visits the animals

February 19, 2012

So Saturday Jeff, Ruby, John, Vanessa and of course Hari went to an indoor petting zoo for the afternoon. It was a lot of fun, there were baby goats, sheep, pig’s burros, ponies, chickens, ducks, Brahma bull and Lamas Hari had a great time and we got a few good pictures. We even managed to get him on a horse for a short ride, Jeff thinks if he doesn’t go into music he’ll be involved with animals somehow, he love both. As they walked around don’t you know a cat showed up, we’re everywhere so you better watch out. Hari was a little afraid at first, because the animals were really hungry, but he got used to them after awhile. When they do things like this with the family and you watch John you begin to think he’s the one that really wants to be here. Speaking of John just as we were entering the farm he got a call to go and play music with his band, I couldn’t believe they called at the last minute, fortunately John said he couldn’t because of where he was and the fact he was with his family. So that was the day, oh by the way johns team National won so I would say everybody had a great day Jeff and Ruby had fun with Hari Vanessa got to spend time with us and watch her son have a great time John got to spend time with this family and his team won and I got to lay in the sun all day with nobody bothering me what more could you ask. So as this day comes to a close and we all get ready to see what tomorrow will bring Ciao.

SHOPPING

February 17, 2012

We went food shopping today and I think I told you this before Milk and eggs are not refrigerated down here they’re on the shelf , the eggs in cardboard trays the milk in plastic bags, and you can all kinds of different eggs not just white chicken ones. You have a much greater selection of brands and fat content with the milk and when you buy vegetables the big stores such as Exito may not have the best we found a little place not far from the house where the quality is very good and the prices are lower. Besides that the Exito mall is trying to go upscale so they can charge more, if you don’t mind walking you can find anything you need in Bello at a much better price. It’s different than in the US you can shop around for just about anything until you find the quality and price, in the US food is pretty much the same price no matter where you go here you can go to a group of stores that just sell fresh cereal or sandals or anything else you want it reminds me of the US when I was a kid and there wasn’t a mall on every corner. Well I writing this post on Thursday night because TV sucks and Ruby watching some soap in the bed room. You’ll probably get this one in your morning e-mail or Facebook page, I’ll see if I can get Jeff to come up with more tomorrow Ciao.

You know I have this compulsion to write everyday but when I get to the computer and Jeff stops moving everything around and I get as comfortable as I can on his boney lap, I sometimes find I don’t know what to write about. That’s why I appear to wonder from subject to subject when I write I just put down whatever comes into my head, it’s a small head unlike Jeff’s so I can’t keep stuff in there for a long period of time. I’ll tell you this if it wasn’t for spell check and grammar check in word I’d never be able to write anything at all, after all I didn’t go to school or take any writing class’s along the way I just sort of wing it and hope for the best . If you really want to read some good stuff I recommend my niece’s snowlady chronicles if you’re interested I’ll post the internet address next time the same goes for Matt Taibbi who writes for Rolling Stone Magazine and has a blog also. These people know how to write and make it really interesting I wish Jeff’s niece would critique this blog once in awhile but my only commenter is Val and she just says Hari’s to cute (which he is). If you folks have anybody you’d like me to look at feel free to go to the bottom of the blog and comment they’re sent to Jeff everyday by e-mail and he either responds by private e-mail or does so in my blog. Well as you know I’m very fond of lying in the sun and I only have a couple hours of good sun where we live right now so I’ll be seeing you tomorrow Ciao.

I’m here

February 15, 2012

I think the world is becoming more screwed up than ever did you read the story of two priests down here that hired hit men to kill themselves, you’ve got rebellions in the Vatican, monks setting themselves on fire in Tibet, and who knows what else. I bring this up because I just watched a documentary on David Koresh Whom Jeff refers to as the Wacko from Waco. Being a cat I have no real opinion on these people or any other group, but I do think they’re nuts and I guess that can happen in any religious group. Moving on Hader’s futbol team, Medellin got a new coach the other day and hopefully he will be able to turn the team around on the other side John’s team National won again and he’s walking around in a much happier mood than he was at the end of last season. Hari was over today, he’s growing so fast but he’s still very nice to me I saw Juan Pablo over the weekend and he was very nice to me and told Jeff he’s doing better in school, I hope so, he’s really a good kid and education is really necessary down here to get a good job. The companies in Colombia but great emphasis on education and they prefer there hire’s to be young, something I don’t agree with because I think they miss out in all that experience that’s out there. I mean look at a kitten they have no idea how to scratch a couch and get away with it but at my age and experience I have the knowledge hoe to do it and not be caught of course you might have to pay an older person a little more but if you don’t want him permanently you can always hire them as consultants for a short period of time. That way you get the experience without a long term expensive commitment, maybe not the best solution for the older person but hopefully they have but themselves in a position that doesn’t require them to be employed full time. Well I think Ii covered everything I wanted to and at the same time I given you guys some stuff to think about see you Ciao.

More about the weekend

February 14, 2012

Hi it’s me Jeff’s having a hard time trying to write about the weekend he says it’s easier when you have some negative stuff, but except for the lack of sleep, there’s little to complain about. He got to read in a beautiful setting during the day and had fun playing Uno and Jenga with all the people it really was a great time. The weather was great, you could see storm clouds and they looked like they were headed right for us then they would just go behind the mountains and we would continue to have sun. Speaking of sun if any of you Norte Americano’s  decide  to come down here bring SPF40 with you , Jeff got a sunburn on his face just by walking around the grounds. Most people that went in the pool wore t-shirts a good part of the time and their skin is a lot darker than Jeff’s. This farm is more or less just for relaxing there not much else to do except swim and eat and relax which, even though he didn’t swim, Jeff says was great. The food which was cook by John’s father in-law, and the women was great you couldn’t have asked for better. Jeff took over a hundred photo’s and he hopes he got everybody in, of course Hari was the star but he doesn’t want the others to feel slighted they were all great now you’ll have to forgive  but Jeff’s lap is not padded so I have to get up and find a more comfortable place to relax for awhile, it was really nice not having him here for a couple of days but don’t tell him I said so, I really had to make a scene when he came home so he would think I couldn’t get along without him for a day or so. Well I’ll be running along now and we’ll talk later don’t forget to check out the pictures Ciao

Weekend at the farm

February 14, 2012

Sorry I missed you guys yesterday but Jeff didn’t get any sleep over the weekend so he made up for it yesterday. The reason he didn’t get any sleep was that the farm they stayed at was down the road from a Christen prayer meeting and they never went to sleep loud music and praying and they were still at it Sunday when Jeff left. Even with the prayer meeting and lack of sleep it was still a good time as you will see from the pictures. I’m going to stop now and let the pictures speak for themselves there will be more in the days that follow Ciao.

Friday

February 10, 2012

Friday is finally here and I need to begin planning for my weekend alone but I just found out someone will be coming by to make sure I have enough water and food, nice to know people care about me. That’s because they don’t know my plans for the weekend, I plan to sleep on all the furniture scratch a lot and do just about anything I want to. I know Ruby will yell at me but what the heck you only live once and I plan to make the most of it also it’s a good way to make Jeff feel guilty about leaving me alone for two days. I’ve already started just laying around and giving him my best pitiful stare, he really can’t stand that it makes all sad. I’m such a cad but I enjoy the extra attention and deep down inside I know Jeff gets some sort of satisfaction in giving it to me. The only problem I have with them going away is no TV and no Hari but so long as the neighbors keep it down I should be alright of course if they start making a lot of noise I’ll have to start howling in the middle of the night to get even. Well I think I’ll start resting up just in case Larry the Lizard decides to stop by to party, he seems to know when the house is empty. You guys have a great weekend and look for a couple of posts on Monday Ciao.

just another day

February 9, 2012

Just another day in Colombia the sun is out everything is well in my world. They finally came to fix the stove and some electrical problem in our guest bathroom. I was informed that Jeff and Ruby will be away for the weekend at a farm someplace, that’s so cool two whole days of peace and quiet, so long as they leave enough food I’ll be a happy camper. Hopefully they will take some good photos so I’ll have something to post on Monday. It does mean that there will be no blog posts at least Sunday it will be dated Monday by the time they get back and I get Jeff to post it. I just hope it doesn’t rain there’s nothing worst then being locked up inside when you’re supposed to out enjoying nature. I don’t know how John will survive without his soccer I hope he has phone service so he’ll at least be able to get the score when his team loses. I put that in just to see if really reads this blog everyday like he says. You will get a post tomorrow it being Friday and I’ll update you on my plans for having the house all to my self until then Ciao

HUMP DAY

February 8, 2012

Here we are hump day, for those of you not familiar with the term it means we’re halfway through the work week and now headed full steam to the weekend. Not real sure what’s on the agenda for the weekend I know for my American readers they begin football withdrawal my Latino readers are already into their long football (soccer to the Americans) season. But as a rule this is a weekend where the wives begin their revenge on their husbands for neglecting them during the football season and they hope to get in some before we men start watching college and professional basketball. Then of course comes the NFL draft and baseball season so the next couple of weeks us men have to suffer the Honey Do list and for Americans they need to go out and get a great present for Valentine’s day. Not too big a price to pay for 6 months of beer pizza and football. So we’ll all smile and say yes dear and go out and get the yard ready for spring, clean out the garage, and paint the kids room just so w can have peace and quiet during the NBA playoffs. I want to thank Val for calling me a wise cat for my post on Monday, I don’t think I’m that wise I’m sitting on Jeff’s boney lap writing all this good stuff and all I get is the occasional pat on the head accompanied by good boy. What happened to the catnip and maybe a girl cat once in awhile Man now I’ve gone got upset I’m out of here Ciao.
