Here we are again looking out the window and watching rain clouds sneak on in, it’s amazing that you can look at a view and watch it change daily, and even hourly. You could in theory look at the same spot a hundred times and see a different one each time, having never lived in a valley surrounded by large mountains before I don’t know if this normal or just here in the Medellin area. I know if you ask somebody down here they will tell you it doesn’t happen any place else on earth, whatever it truly beautiful. Ruby still sick but you can’t tell here to do anything, I used to think Jeff was stubborn but she might be even more so. Everybody is waiting for Jan 9^th it’s the epiphany so the tradition says b people ride out into the country to cook San Concho. This will be one holiday Jeff Won’t mind and promises, weather permitting to a fun time. Jeff and Ruby were supposed to have built me a scratching post by now, maybe if I give the furniture a good scratch this afternoon they’ll get up off their ass’s and finish the job, I’ll let you know what happens Ciao.

Day two of the New year Well they went to Nelida’s for traditional rice and bean and to celebrate Catalina’s birthday , as you can see from some of the photo (I’ll have Jeff put them a little at a time) Some people just don’t know when to stop the party and rest for the next one. Everybody is happy with everybody else the little drama of the night before is forgotten except for Mauricio he apparently pissed of his girl friend again new years eve, Jeff says he apparently missed it, and stayed up all night drinking and kept on going New Years day. I hope the kid either slows down or quits altogether otherwise he’s headed for trouble. Ok everybody was there Jeff’s favorite aunts, Nacho, Olga Catalina and her kids, Ruby’s father, (better known as El Jefe) , Ruby’s x husband Louis (also known as Puma), Nachos Nephew and his family as well as a few people Jeff didn’t know and some of Ruby’s cousins this day was a lot of fun and no drama. The scenic Photos are the view from the front and parking lot of Nelida’s house, pretty cool huh, the rest are of guests and activities to celebrate Catalina’s birthday. What else Ruby’s now has a cold and diarrhea and Jeff is feeling a little off , so I think I’ll sneak an aspirin and  hide under the Christmas tree Maybe I’ll talk to laterCiao.

Good morning everybody hope everybody made it through the parties last night surprisingly there weren’t as many parties going on as on Christmas eve. Let me say first that Jeff thinks New Years Eve is one of if the most stressful holidays of the year, people feel too much pressure to have  good time or have to many parties to go to. That seemed to be the case with Ruby’s son Hader. Let’s start at the beginning as of Christmas day everybody was going to Nelida’s house for News Year. Well around 3 o’clock New years eve Hader comes over with his (soon to be wife we think) girlfriend And Ruby thinks He’s going to bring the gas and the grill for cooking .Well, she’s wrong Hader tells her there going to his girlfriends mother’s house and will see them later Ok Ruby get’s her nephew to borrow a car and take the grill and gas as well as them to Nelida’s house. Once they get there they find out her nephew is having a fight with his girl friend and isn’t sure she’s coming then the phone rings and its Hader and he’s not sure he’s coming. Now Ruby was already upset with him so now she till Nelida they should just g to their aunt’s house to celebrate. Through all of this Jeff is just sitting and trying to be supportive of his wife as she channels her anger at Catalina (Hader’s girlfriend). Prior to this Ruby would involve herself in negative talk about the relationship and Jeff kept quite because he felt it wasn’t any of his business, but when people hurt his wife he will take her side. Now it’s about 9:30 Mauricio has patched things up with his girlfriend is on his way Hader calls and says he’s on the way and Jeff fires up the grill and begins to cook, he thinks everything will now be cool. When Hader arrives around 11:00, after everything has been cooked and people have ate, they notice everybody has changed their clothes I think the dynamics of the family have changed and Hader’s girlfriend is going to cause problems in the future. Now that’s why I as a cat do not like New Years Eve. Now it’s New Years Day another year is in the books and let’s hope everything will straighten out for the best and Jeff get’s to go fishing everybody goes back to liking everybody else, just remember don’t hate me this story came from him I slept all night.
